It goes ding when there's stuff

Hi!! 👋 Just a warning: the answer is going to be long because I tend to word vomit 😂🙈

Yes, basically you can go see 3 type of shows for each of the ones you see on tv: the jury show, the family show and the actual live broadcasted one.

The jury show is the evening before the semis/final and it's the one the national juries see to vote, but it's also a "first official reharsal" so you also get to see all the guests and hosts breaks and so on.

The family show is held the afternoon of the same day of the live shows and it's basically a full last reharsal of what will happen later in the evening. So you see all artists, all guests, all hosts breaks and a simulation of the results announcement (that's actually kind of weird because the hosts just randomly say a nation, then you see the cameramen run to the right spot in an empty green room with maybe a staff member there as a "delegation placeholder" who pretends to celebrate and you cheer for it???? Also when in the semis they interview one of the big 5 it's just the hosts asking the questions to a staff member who just mimes the aswer or does a little dance or something 😂 it's actually quite funny).

Anyway.

Both of these shows are cheaper and are meant to allow more people to see the show in some capacity (and even then me and my friend got so lucky to find the tickets because in a few seconds everything was virtually sold out, then ticketone crashed and then after an hour and a half of refreshing and trying to put tickets in the chart we managed to have a couple of them go through just by sheer luck).

It's so different form what you see on tv! Everyone sounds better and you can see all the behind the scenes, stage set up and just the whole performance in general.

Today I learned that cameramen are crazy people running around everywhere on stage to avoid dancers and being seen from any other angle. I also learned that you can acually feel the heat of fire pyrotechnics even from the upper ring, at the opposite side of the stage.
