ever since i got into eurovision in 2025 (for what reason i dont remember) i've been wanting to go back and listen to all of the music from previous years. i've already listened to 2024-2026 (2025 i listened to the music after the event happened cus i couldn't find where to watch the grand final live) but i started listening to 2023 the other day.
here's my tier list of all of the songs from eurovision 2023 + my thoughts on each song in order of the youtube playlist i found with the music videos (those are under the cut)
Loreen - Tattoo (Sweden) - Perfectly fine winner. Elevated by its performance pretty heavily but it's a decent song.
Noa Kirel - Unicorn (Israel) - 🇵🇸
Brunette - Future Lover (Armenia) - Armenia just doesn't miss do they?
La Zarra - Évidemment (France) - It's French! It's really... really... really French
Käärijä - Cha Cha Cha (Finland) - 100% would have preferred this to win but it's alright. Hearing this song actually reminded me that I wanted to listen to Eurovision 2023 so thanks Käärijä
Teya & Salena - Who The Hell Is Edgar? (Austria) - Instant favorite. Fun and very weird (but like a fun flavor of weird).
Mae Muller - I Wrote A Song (UK) - zzzzzzzzzzzz
Vesna - My SIster's Crown (Czechia) - This is like Austria's entry where it's a fun flavor of weird but it's slightly less enjoyable. Good entry from Czechia though!
Let 3 - Mama ŠČ (Croatia) - If only all dictators were this silly.
TVORCHI - Heart Of Steel (Ukraine) - First Eurovision song I ever actually heard! Another instant favorite for this year.
Luke Black - Samo Mi Se Spava (Serbia) - Atmospheric and a little crazy. Every Eurovision needs a track like this.
Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper - Burning Daylight (Netherlands) - Underrated.
Alessandra - Queen Of Kings (Norway) - Overrated.
Pasha Parfeni - Soarele şi Luna (Moldova) - OOOOOOOHHH this is that good shit.
Blanca Paloma - Eaea (Spain) - ???
Andrew Lambrou - Break A Broken Heart (Cyprus) - Unremarkable. Doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth after listening. Doesn't leave any taste actually.
Remo Forrer - Watergun (Switzerland) - I think the "i don't wanna be a soldier" anti-war song is good but this was maybe mistimed considering Ukraine is in a war.
Blanka - Solo (Poland) - bitch did you make the song and record the music video on your phone in one afternoon?
Voyager - Promise (Australia) - This one seems like it'll have to grow on me, but it's a fine rock track.
Iru - Echo (Georgia) - Boring.
Joker Out - Carpe Diem (Slovenia) - Extremely not boring. What a fun little indie track!
Monika Linkytė - Stay (Lithuania) - Meh.
The Busker - Dance (Our Own Party) ((((Malta)))) - What a delightful little song!
Theodor Andrei - D.G.T (Off And On) ((((Romania)))) - What an awful song! Also what an awful music video!.
Gustaph - Because Of You (Belgium) - Fun! I have no other notes.
Victor Vernicos - What They Say (Greece) - Underrated.
Lord Of The Lost - Blood & Glitter (Germany) - so sorry but how the fuck is this last place in the grand final???
Albina & Familja Kelmendi - Duje (Albania) - Very unique to Albania and Albanian culture but I just can't get into this one.
TuralTuranX - Tell Me More (Azerbaijan) - yasssssss azerbaijan... give us nothinggg!
Ailka - Bridges (Estonia) - Probably one of the better ballads from this year.
Diljá - Power (Iceland) - Don't care strongly about this one.
Wild Youth - We Are One (Ireland) - Fun! Same thoughts as Slovenia's entry but this feels familiar?
Marco Mengoni - Due Bite (Italy) - ok yeah this deserved the top 4 finish. also damn you italy for making my S tier too big!!!!
Sudden Lights - Aljā (Latvia) - DAMNNNNN this year's indie entries are amazing.
Reiley - Breaking My Heart (Denmark) - this guy looks like he's either 14 or like he's a part of a k-pop group. also what is it with these artists' hearts? ukraine's heart is steel, cyprus's is broken x2, and denmark's is broken x1.
Mimicat - Ai Coração (Portugal) - It's good! not much more to say.
Piqued Jacks - Like An Animal (San Marino) - this is so like... okay. seems like they're having fun though!

A small person note because I wanted to talk about it somewhere ->
I've received so much kindness and understanding and love from people when drawing Bojere it was and is very important to me. Looking back, I wasn't in the best state of mind at one point, and especially with 2024 and life changes, I really just drifted apart from the fan space and I couldn't connect back to it at all....I had no energy to engage with people and talk to them or try to know more about them and I feel I really haven't repaid them for all the kindness at all. I wish I could have been a better friend but eh life happens. it's very nice to see everyone enjoy and love Bojere even in 2026 including me. and maybe down the future I can try to be a better friend to future people I'll find even if the people I were close to no longer feel close to me 💔 but I remember everyone really fondly.
Also: guess I'll always love Bojere and I hope to draw them anytime mood strikes.

Ok so I watched the Bojere Liverpool dinner live stream for the first time and...
Bojan must have been down BAD for Jere because the first 10 minutes were just Jere making weird noises in an obnoxiously loud way on the open street, looking at his phone while blabbering nonsense and then he also declined the like only food option Bojan was suggesting (picky eater!Bojan confirmed lmao) and Bojan STILL had heart eyes and laughed at his jokes and even invited him for lunch lmao
and then the other 5 minutes were them being all smiley at each other, teaching the other their native languages and Jere just giggling at literally ANYTHING Bojan said JESUS CHRIST
