Hey, Yuki here, sorry about that shitty cherid coin. I realized now that it was a much worse exclusionary version of fleur. Like there were a lot of flaws in it everywhere. I imagine a lot of you feel betrayed right now. And a lot of you wonder where I stand. And wonder if there are any other surprises as you don’t trust me.
I didn’t know fleur was a thing. I identify as fleur after thinking about it more. This does not mean I hate transharmful people. I will listen to our mod team in the future who is in support of transharmful to mark sure I don’t do anything hurtful to that group.
Sorry I came out in a bad way as fleur. When heard about cherid there was a part of it that resonated with me to the point I overlooked some serious flaws. I have come to the conclusion that if I ever try and coin anything on my own, a second coin, it will be a disaster! I don’t think I can spot all the flaws alone.
Sorry again to the mod team. I showed them cherid many months ago and they said it was a terrible idea. Sorry I did not listen, and hurt the feelings of the community. I guess a part of me lashed out because I didn’t feel heard. I didn't feel like there was a way to express my feeling with in this community. Like I wanted to support transid from the start while never perfectly fitting the mold, I hoped I would with time. I have a tendency to hide stuff when I worry I won't fit in and it builds. But then someone showed me that fleur coin. Thanks for that! That's is what I should have come out as. I hope you all accept me as fleur. And I want to be kinder to transharmful people.
So I guess this is me coming out as fleur, sorry again I reached this point in such a shitty way. I plan to delete those previous cherid posts tommorow sometime. I'm not trying to cover anything up I just don't want new people coming in confused thinking I still stand behind that.
I have a question. Not about transharmful (I could say a lot about whether or not I consider it a good term, long story short I see both your perspective and your critics perspectives) but about the other part of that rule in the cherid coining. That identities must also not be based in a desire to harm yourself.
I assume this is meant to be a way to exclude transharmed identities? Which… I mean… okay, if that’s what you want to do. I would argue that that’s hard to do completely (as transharmed grew out of transtrauma which grew out of transabled identities like transPTSD).
My problem is that depending how you interpret “desire to hurt yourself” (or how antis interpret it) could become a big issue. For example, is desiring an amputation having a desire to hurt yourself? Because this is the claim levied against basically all transabled identities. That it’s just sh. Hell, transphobes will call any medical transition of any kind self harm. With “transgenderism” being called the new equivalent of cutting.
My fear is that adding that specification basically means that in the wrong hands or viewed through the wrong eyes, a lot more than transharm identities could be excluded. And it makes me uncomfortable to just think of that in a definition. I know what you’re trying to do. But to some people, safely blinding yourself or having an amputation is self-harm (since what you’re doing is damaging your body). To some people, tulpamancy/willomancy is self-harm (since you’re encouraging dissociation, a negative coping mechanism). To some people… you get the idea. I don’t agree with either of these, but I wanted you to know they are viewpoints out there.
I would not want to be in a community where that was a specification unless I knew exactly and specifically how “hurting yourself” was going to be defined.
I will attempt to define "hurting yourself" as you have asked me to. I would like it to be a fair and factual metric. I have read that transgender transition and surgery has very very low regret rate less. Trans surgery is less than 1%. As long as you look at real studies that aren't fabricated by TERFS. It seems all regret types are defiantly under 3%. I geniunely hope that the following does not seem transmedicalist! I'm not one. I support people in cherid who choose not to transition. They are cherid. But I think the least biased method I can think of, to numerically assign regret rates is to transitions. I think we should accept everyone by default who fits the other definitions of cherid. And wait for more evidence to rule something out for harm. I think if in future research there a mountain of evidence shows, more than 50% regret a surgery or transition... I think that in that case surgery or transition for that identity would be harmful... If more people regret something than are satisfied with I conclude that causes more harm than good generally. (this is a ethically utilitarian. I choose this ethical frame work because it is simple to follow). I think if someone is very determined to get a high regret rate surgery or similar, we should still be kind to these people. But some people trying to talk them out of it seems warranted. There are a few other caveats to consider, can we rule out the regret coming from how society treats those people (such as rejection)? The regret must from how the person might feel about their surgery in isolation for it to be harmful. I think this only shows a transition of high regret could be harmful, I don't think this is enough evidence to show the identity itself is harms. Let's say the cherid as a concept does not promote transitions that the majority genuinely regret. We can keep identity separate from high regret rate transitions and try and be more inclusive of any identity (that meets the other criteria). I would expect: transspecies, transage, transrace, and transabled all to have much lower regret rates. But I don't have proof. I cannot to yet come to any strongly supported conclusions. Many biased people see woman as less than or disabled as less than. They are seeing the world through a lens where someone is more than someone else. A transwoman's ideal body is often similar to a ciswoman's, I legitimately hope we allow transabled people to get surgery to become disabled, and monitor the regret rates. My guess is they would be happier than way. Not everything in life is about less or more as some people assume. I think what body are you comfortable in is most important. And my guess being the the body you identify with will make people happier even if it is 'disadvantages you' in some way. With transplural I don't expect it to be harmful. I think we should be supportive of anything like that by default. I support transplural. When people's transitions are studied, we could look at regret rates in the future.
I think less than 50% of less regretting is a logical place to draw the line. And doesn't hold everything to the same high standards as the success of transgender surgery. I don't think it should have to be such a positive way to transition as transgender surgery is. But over 50 times more can regret is as people who get trans surgery in my book. So support everyone unless included by the other criteria unless there is ever strong harm evidence in the future that transition causes harm then don't encourage that transition method, unless a better one comes in the more distant future that people don't regret so much. Anon, please let me know if this seems like a fair unbiased way to assess harm. Or you have concerns or suggestions still.
Cherid recoin
I stand behind the general concept of cheird. But one thing has become very clear. No one wanted a committee. It is very unpopular. To be honest I want to spend my time working on the website not being a part of some committee. Better to risk, cherid evolve in an unintended way that make a term that serves no one. I can understand the anxiety of not being in control of the umbrella you identify with. I have no problem removing the committee part. I stand behind the coin minus the commitee! there were some misunderstandings from the previous post. First I want to say some people might think “can transition toward” means someone, anyone in that community can transition towards their goals. Someone who isn’t transitioning or doesn’t want to is still cherid. I also want to say that I’m no expert on transharmful. I am not transharmful myself or a medical health professional. In the previous post I made a claim that there is a better way to heal from intrusive thoughts. I made a claim that I could not back up. If you are a part of the transharmful community please write an ask with your experiences. Such as how transharmful effects you. And things that are misunderstood about the community. And what the term means to you. I will read all of them but don’t promise to reply to all of them, and talk to some mental health professionals I know. I will present transharmful to these professionals, and include some of the asks. I will do my best to come in with an open mind. And listen to both sides. I’m not going to make anyone do anything differently. If transharmful gave you a way to cope with intrusive thoughts that seems helpful. I could be wrong but there might be a more effective way to heal from intrusive thoughts. I will present what they see as the DO and don’ts of coping with such thoughts, if they suggest transharmful or another method of coping you will hear it. And I’ll come to my own personal conclusion based on this. If you wish to boycott the transid.org website or discord. That is your own decision. The data on the wiki is pretty open not locked in. If you wish to make your own site it takes a lot of determination and some funds. Great luck to you! I'm not going to hold your hand but I'd be willing to answer some technical questions. Also note there is the term FLEUR I was not familiar with for those of you who are looking for something existing similar to transid. That cherid coin version you saw in the previous post seems to have been coined on 8/18/2025. But was kept private for a while. We expected some amount of backlash. The people who do not like the addition of certain controversial transid terms typically leave transid. We did not expect the people who stuck around to be very in favor of this. I think it is wrong to scare such people off how might be searching for cherid or FLEUR. And I aim to advocate tolerance from all both sides.
A Bold Coin, (Cherid)
This coin was written by the original coiner of transid (aka 6120975), (not me). And the OG coiner claims this is more in line with their original intentions of what transid’s meaning was intended to be. Cherid Coin “Cherid: short for cherished identity is a term for those who are switching to a differing identity than how they are societally perceived. It is for those who genuinely identify as such. Must be approved by the cherid committee” (Yuki's proposed coin amendments for easier interpretation) (added at end) "Criteria 1-3 shall be interrupted through a scientific lens. Can be transitioned to towards" When a cherid committee forms, we will draft up a constitutions, and vote on my amendments. 6120975 is an advisor (can be asked questions) who left me (Yuki) in charge of forming a cherid committee. Terms that are decided by committee are not cherid are still transid. No one in the current community is being excluded from transid.org. I am making this post because I the founder of transid.org identify as cherid. I see the irony there! I'll talk about how this will affect transid.org and then have go into length of my opinions so people don't put words in my mouth.
How does this effect transid.org? We will NOT destroy or exclude any part of the community that has called our website home. There seems to be a need for this coining though. Some notice that many have left the community (who disagree with controversial terms) not having something to call themselves. I follow the original transid coiner, in IDing as cherid. But we will give a platform to differing ideologies. We silence no one! May we coexisist?! We are NOT burning the controversial books of the wiki. We are NOT excluding transid, radqueer or cherid from transid.org! However, with so much controversy in the terms under the transid umbrella, and no other word, in my opinion we exclude ‘normies’ like me. I hope those in this community understand the search for terms the feel representative of our identities. I should also note that the transid.org mod team has plenty of transid/radqueer types along with cherid representation namely me (Yuki). This post reflects Yuki's views, the founder of transid.org. I hope you tolerate my or anyone cherid’s who may have such a difference of opinion. Without tolerance of differences the mainstream lgbtq and neurodivergent would have never flourished compared to the past. We truly all are entitled to our opinions. I hope tolerance is widespread and mutual. Many transid people even see problems with anyone online making a new term. The transid community does distance itself from some terms (replaceids) mostly for suspected trolls. But is in full support of transharmful. My opinions on transharmful I’m not against transharmful people, glad to see you all found an online community who you can relate to. You (of course) are all are still welcome to be a part of transid. Transharmful people finding community seem to helped relieve some shame of having intrusive thoughts. But choosing to make such a thought a part of your core of who you are could prevent you from healing from the trauma by cementing such thoughts. I encourage you all to get help with such thoughts. I believe with letting such thoughts pass could allow getting better. I encourage you all to cherish the euphoric happiest parts of you as the core parts of you identity. I think making the clearly uplifting things part of us are a positive contribution to our well being. Why should I encourage making negative thoughts more permanent. I understand people will disagree here. I'm not going to force anyone to change their opinion. I ask for tolerance of differing views of transharmful on transid.org. It is possible to disagree respectfully, and tolerance does not mean you are forced to be besties! Trans suffice usage suggestion Here is a 6120975 suggestion about the trans suffix. A transman is a man. It is that simple, at least if you ask an actual queer. But with some more recent transid terms, trans also means is not. Like when people don’t genuinely identify as a term they ‘hoard’. Can we as a community come up with an alternative suffice people can use in those cases? I think keeping trans meaning someone is, is good. We should reward all the grandparents who now connect trans with someone's real identity. I think we should make an alternate suffix besides "trans" people can choose to use (opt in) who don’t choose to identify as something.

transid.org launch delayed until June
This was communicated on our Discord on February 26th for those who missed it... I worked very hard on the launch. I Think I put in 200 hours in the last month. The launch was originally planned for June. Why the pivot? Discord announced some policy changes we were disappointed by. They are now delayed to take place in the second half of this year. So I had two choices a few days ago. Either push us to the new website with the migration or wait until June. Truthfully I COULD have launched it in March with more risk than June. You see corners had to be cut to hit the March deadline. It was my opinion that the launch would be an initial success with reliability issues later down the line due to corners cut. So I thought, hey why not delay and do things the right way Discord is giving us time after they backpedaled. I had planned to post this with a poll of what you want to see on the new site. But I was really tired from the previous work. My mistake thinking I would have the energy to make the poll in time, sorry I delayed this post longer than I should have. Please expect a poll soon. You can stop reading now if not a tech/computer person: I glossed over why the reason this decision was made a bit. In short we are missing a few things on the technical side: better backup technology (that is ideal for the more complex new server) and an opensource git based code repo. These combined will allow off of real main server testing of updates (very important). I personally think that the March update plan's weakness was being prepared to maintain all the new software's required security updates. Like how do we make the server more secure, when some one else finds a flaw in some of the open source software we use (and fix it by applying someone else's fix), without a risk of downtime (from an untested update)? note we will be open sourcing our codebase, it's really a bunch of collect of other people's codebases we manage and configure. Opensource, means anyone can run a server like ours soon. Once it is is available I think it will take people 10 minutes to a full day to get running depending on how technical they are when available. But the goal is to provide documentation for someone confident and nontechnical who really want their own transid.org server running on their local computer to be able to dive in! Note the server uses ALOT of ram,we will allow running part of the website as you choose locally. And I hope it allows more people to participate in volunteering to run transid.org, not now but soon. I'll let you all know when I'm ready. I expect the repo to take more than a month to clean up.

Participate in transid.org new site test? One day to act.
Long post but important to transid.org's future! This will be the 'more than a wiki' alpha, to help test, you must have an an existing transid.org account created soon. I mean anything made before tomorrow (24 hours from now) will do. Expect in about TWO DAYS the new login system to let you in. When it's time go to to the temporary homepage and follow the on screen email confirmation instructions. alpha.transid.org is the (1990's-esque) home page we hope to replace in 2 weeks. Editor role will not be required, but having previously made an account is. This is your 1 day to make an account (at transid.org) warning! I (Yuki) have been working on this update for over a year and thinking about what to add since we launched almost 4 years ago. It's not ready and will be buggy. Why now? I was targeting LBGTQ pride this year with less bugs. But with recent plans to alter Discord, I figured I would crunch to release something not great (doesn't meet my standards) by March 1st. I can still delay if March 1st is too soon not 100% committed. Expect at launch for the wiki part to work as you expect that's been tested! But the new stuff will be mixed bag until fixed. I expect to be fixing major bugs well into March. Things that might be done on march 1st: a polished home page. I set a deadline, for my skilled friend to make it. There should be, a way to in the web browser make a your own hangout 'server' with friends chatting in various channels. You could join the main transid.org one or make your own on the site! Kind of similar to that platform I mentioned (being annoyed with) earlier ;) DO NOT expect pluralkit like features by march 1st. also expect a place to chill where you can put pixels on the screen with our community and draw. And this one will require a PC. In browser there will be a way to play Minetest an opensource cube building and adventure game on our server. Similar to a more famous game. I have a long road map of features beyond March 1st things mentioned here that will take another year probably. Highlights include a place to coin terms, a merch store (print on demand) the community can upload art to sell, and more social media similar to the site you are using. Don't expect those features for a while. But there is more than all mentioned thus far that I hope I or we can add. If enough things work fine enough by March 1st accessing the new site will be through currently in-development polished transid.org homepage (at transid.org) instead of alpha.transid.org (that's for alpha testing). The wiki will be relocated to wiki.transid.org old links including on other sites should redirect there (transid.org to wiki.transid.org) that has been tested already. Also during the alpha DO NOT make edits you care about to wiki.transid.org those edits will be wiped at the launch. And at that point all data will be transferred from transid.org to wiki.transid.org. I hope this isn't too confusing. We are migrating to a new server and some new software (staying with Bookstack's wiki software). I Yuki also hope to allow community contribution to the website tech stuff, but more code base organization work is needed it will be after well March 1st, you can 'git clone' our site soon. Seems important also because we download almost exclusively opensource software not made by us on the server. But greater collaboration on our site's tech will be a while after launch.

I legitimately think, this could possibly be a historic even in our community! As all previous transrace/rcta/ect scientific studies have been easier to ignore, few participated. But the community has grown and really come together for this survey. 245 people have taken it already! This is already a fantastic result :). However, let's rally those who do things last minute. Feel free to make social media posts to spread the word to those who haven't taken it yet. Let's try and hit 300 participants! Don't you want to a chance to be a part of our communities history?! The survey will close on Monday September 15th 2025. This weekend is your last chance!

Bad News UK users had to be blocked from transid.org
sorry for the delayed announcement this happened a few weeks ago! Please see the other post today about the transrace survey/scientific study for some good news. In order to comply with "The UK Online Safety Act 2023" to the best thing we can do at this time is to block all UK users. If you are from the UK and the wiki stops working that is the intended behavior unfortunately. I do not hate the UK! But when running a website, all laws from countries around the world must be complied with. The UK government only left us with a few choices.
1.we could collect ID for users who register. (But we wish to respect your privacy) 2.we could if anyone noticed us, argue in a court (I think in a UK court) that we are of a classification that does not require to collect ID. I can't afford a lawyer. We could likely lose., 3.shut down. 4.block all devices in the UK.
We picked option 4.
More Trouble brewing: This is likely a band aid none permanent solution. Similar laws might pass in Australia and the US. I live in in the US. If and when a US law requires websites to collect ID is when we shut down. Like I live there. I can't block myself from wiki access and leave it up for the rest of the world that would be an administrative nightmare.
If a law like this in the US passes DM me (better to do on Discord) make darn sure I know about it. I will start preparing a more complete backup for the wiki if this day comes. If that day comes I'll try not not only provide a viewable wiki but also hopefully instructions on how to host the wiki will be included. I will in that case do my best to pass the torch and no longer be affiliated with the wiki. There might be some other countries in the world where the legal landscape is different. No need in contacting me if you want the wiki's torch but be careful legally. If this happens I'll make the none personal wiki data/personal accounts are there. It would be a torrent anyone can download. Torrent means it's up to our community (our computers) to host the file into the future.

The website at launch as been scaled back to just a wiki. But we do have a private discord server where you can use those features. Those features might come in the future, but there are many technical hurdles we would need to overcome.

It took longer than expected it's at transid.org. I think anyone can make a website. There are a lot of different skills. You can be a coder, or an artist, or run the servers. Do you have a website that is a dream website you want to build. I'm happy to be building mine right now. I'm not the usually most active on Tumblr (hoping to change that) but if you want any advice on how to make websites please reach out. I'm still an amateur I don't do this for a living right now. But I could point you in the right direction

A new transid wiki is here! It is called transid.org! Note to deter trolls one must get approved to edit. See my other post (coming soon) for the process. This is our wiki. It's our mission to create something that has all the transid terms well organized. Now anyone can be a transid coiner. And others anyone can improve the writing quality as needed. I hope to build a sense of community around learning and growing confident in our identities. Transid ORG status
I made a lot of promises with what the Transidorg site could deliver. No promises this time but I think I can deliver something reduced in scope (a wiki). The Wiki was most highly requested on the poll. This may or may not expand later. I bit off more than I could chew. I will make an effort to post once a month not to go silent again. I will need a small group of site testers. DM me on here. I will not respond to the dms until I am looking to onboard testers (explained below). That's the most important stuff out of the way but feel free to read on. 3 reasons for my hiatus on the project were 1. Too big a project and being overwhelmed so I made the project smaller. 2. burnout so now I am limiting myself to a max of 4 hours a day. 3. lack of motivate because of mean messages. That's why I'm going to wait until I think the site is ready, to look at all the messages and recruit testers. Then after we all use it I'll know it's ready. Not reading these messages is my way of staying focused. To those who I said could mod I think it would be best to get to know everyone better first. Those people (who were promised to be mods) will start as early testers. Some or maybe all of those people will become mods. Could still be a fast track to being a mod. Going back on promises seems to be a theme here. I'm sorry for everything! The broken promises and the silence. I hope the wiki can better organize all this Transid terminology and make it easier for me and everyone else to learn.
