Brendon’s yellow bag in the last 3 months of 2006 + spring 2008

There are a few similar & super old questions sitting in my inbox that I’m just going to answer all together here. So basically, I said “Bden” and “JWalk” but not “Ryro” because I used whatever names the guys called themselves when they communicated with fans. I really wasn’t overthinking it and there’s no deep meaning to any choice. 

here’s anything else I can remember about their nicknames right now:

Jon called himself every name possible while doing the band’s journal, but he and his friends seemed to lean more towards JWalk.

Brendon called himself Bden from the start and that almost felt like his actual name at times. Pete spelled it “Bdon” for years, but the thought still counts ha. Otherwise, I remember some fans in the Fever era calling him Brenny, Brenny Bear, Bren, Bren-Bear, and variations of that. I heard he wasn’t comfortable when people he wasn’t close to called him Brenny Bear. Ryan supposedly called him “B” sometimes when he was trying to get his attention during signings.

The guys in the band occasionally called Spencer “Spence,” but he used “Spencer” when talking or writing to fans. Ok this is horrible but the main nickname-related fan thing I’m remembering for him right now is “grandpa” or all of the stuff about him looking like a lesbian cat.

It’s kind of funny to be so familiar with a word that you read a lot but then realize that you have no idea if people actually say it out loud irl… I vaguely remember different discussions about this topic and I think more people actually said Ryro & JWalk than Bden. I’m pretty sure I only said JWalk out loud. Again, there was no serious thought that went into this… it just happened that way and I’m sure thousands of other fans did something different.
