I think some people are misunderstanding the premise of the dark and terrible magics and the nature of the amulet here: the question is not necessarily "could you be convinced to do deplorable things by the amulet" or "how quickly would you lose your morals to the amulet" its "would your curiosity/envy/desire/etc tempt you into exploring dark and terrible magics in the first place, leading to your subsequent possession via the amulet". its not about your will or morals or strength of character Against the possession, or what the amulet may or may not make you do, it's about whether you give in to the temptation in the first place. if you give in, you are getting possessed, point blank. you've already lost. again, this is not about what happens after you put the amulet on, it's about whether you reach for it at all
