so many ways to lose

the way these people treated s2 santos was like ‘women are horrible, conniving, over dramatic shrews and you should never trust their account on anything, much less how they are treated by the people around them because they are always unreliable’ but #wokely and in a #welovecomplexfemalecharactersway. and then the next post on their blog would be actually langdon didn’t even treat her that bad in s1

its so cute that the pitt gave me two female characters who are loser virgins against their wishes in their late twenties ❤️❤️❤️ #femalelonelinessepidemic its like looking into my future

i just don’t know how theyre going to possibly wrap up her entire character in a satisfying way. in 4 episodes left. samira is a deeply miserable and unfulfilled person whose complete devotion and perfectionism in regards to her work has become a detriment to her life as a whole. she is an extremely isolated person with no community and no support who notoriously never takes her own advice that she gives to her patients. she has bad habits, especially overworking herself and is perpetually exhausted because of it. with orlando this season + learning that her program about racial disparities in the medical field has been cut because of underfunding its like she is one person fighting insurmountable forces, all out of her control, and has to come face to face with her own powerlessness without letting it overcome her. she is extremely adrift at this point; she has no idea what her life will look like next year! all of this makes her one of the most compelling characters the pitt has with heaps more to explore and a lot of potential for growth. so how could this decision possibly be story-driven? why is she getting kicked to the curb when there’s so much left to say? theyre not going to stick the landing with this

like sorry i thought this show was about healing, amongst other things. there’s nothing wrong with characters only getting worse and worse (obviously) but the pitt has never given me the impression that its the type of show interested in letting its characters flounder in regression like that, especially with langdon’s healing journey. so what gives. like if you’re going to do this to samira then robby has to kill himself for real NO ONE is allowed to get better. whatever i know theyre going to like hint or whatever or nod at her possibly growing and getting better habits post the pitt but it will happen offscreen lol. when there’s no reason for that. just kill everyone at hbo headquarters at this point

i wish the pitt would actually be the show the actors keep talking about in interviews

i really respect how industry handled harper/rob/yasmin in s1 because they did sincerely take a stab at the whole ‘why dont they all just fuck 😍’ thing everyone always says when there’s a love triangle but came away with the most obvious answer which is that polyamory was never and will never be the solution #monogamywinsagain

when harper walked away mad as hell because 1) yasmin started ordering her around something she obviously cannot stand bc all she’s ever wanted to do was subordinate her and ‘win’ 2) she was jealous that rob’s attention had moved from her to yasmin 3) she was already insecure about her sexual prowess when compared to yas and it just scratched at that particular painful feeling. i love when its messy like this and when the jealousy and resentment are eating the characters up from the inside
