OOOUGH THE THINGS YOU'RE PUTTING ARTHUR THROUGH IN YOUR STORY. THE DOOMED PLATONIC SITUATIONSHIP. HEARTBREAKING<///3 also adore the way Delilah is haunting the narrative. An absence as palpable as someone's presence if that makes sense. Like this may just be my eagerness to notice patterns where there aren't any but Delilah, Gala, and Lila having -la ending names (Lila's name being pretty direct as a reanimation attempt of Delilah, Gala's connection being Delilah's daughter)
That Lila 3D model is so pretty!!! Thank you for the bonus ^_^
Is there any Gala information you have to share... Thank you for all the info so far omg
Oh. Oh I have so much gala info to share
First off it does seem Arthur has a long history of destroying himself over -la named women haha. After Delilah leaves, Arthur’s mental health deteriorates and it causes him to start obsessively dedicating his work to Delilah. Everything he did was for Delilah, until generation 2 rolled around.
Generation 2, Tales From Gardenview was sort of a mlp next gen equivalent for the Dandy’s World show. It was a last ditch attempt at making money for Gardenview but it was also a gift from Arthur for his daughter, Gala. It was the starting point of absolutely everything to come. After tfgv began, it turned from being dedicated to Delilah to being dedicated to Gala. With Delilah gone, Gala was all he had left of her. Gala was his everything.
And he did everything for her. The toons he made were specifically made to be her friends. He had put already existing toons under the knife, remodeling them just to fit her and her show. He gave Gala the world, but being good to her meant ruining everyone else. In all honesty I think Arthur deserved everything that happened to him.
Also, unrelated to Gala but it’s Delilah centric so I think you’d like it. I like thinking about the version of Delilah the Arthur hallucinates. I’ll just call her Dee for now to differentiate. Arthur most commonly hallucinates Dee interacting with other toons or people, and is much friendlier than Delilah was. She’s expressive, energetic, friendly to those she’s “interacting with” (also hallucinations). Arthur very rarely gets to directly speak to Dee, but when he does she seems to know how her presence affects Arthur, and is guilty of it.
Dee is anything but how Delilah was. She isn’t symbolic of how he saw Delilah, she directly symbolizes that Arthur is forgetting her.
