And let's also remember that show Colin has a history to back him up.

I get that his comment was hurtful and made no sense given that he was the one who seduced her and with him knowing that Pen is not that kind of person.

but try and understand that he was hurt and felt betrayed by the one person who has always made him feel truly appreciated and seen in ways that he's never felt seen before.

I mean, don't we all say things that we do not mean in anger?

i get sick of people constantly talking about Colin/Luke's looks, like looks are subjective, PERIOD!.

what looks good to you might not look good to me, and vice versa.

comparing Colin's looks to the looks of the past male leads, and suggesting that he's not dreamy, and just doesn't have that male lead attractive charm, is honestly dumb to me.

it's one thing to say that he's just not your type, but to say that he's (ugly) is just plain disgusting to me. and a total lie, I mean, have you seen this man, are we looking at the same person?

Colin Bridgerton is very attractive and dreamy.

He is hot and cute all in one. I mean what more can I say about his looks?

Just like Simon and Anthony, Colin is a beautiful man to gaze upon.

It’s okay to say that he’s not your type, but to say that he’s not attractive, just doesn’t make sense to me. I love Anthony and Ben, but if I’m being honest, they are less appealing to me compared to Colin.

The point is, that Luke Newton is a very beautiful man.

I just don’t get why people are so negative about his looks, or why I have to point this out (it’s honestly disgusting, really) when he looks just as good, if not better than Jonathan Bailey, Luke Thompson, and Regé-Jean Page. Respectively.

A lot of people seem to not like Colin and the way his being portrayed this season, stating that "he doesn't feel like a male lead".

Personally, I think that those people are so used to red flag male leads that they can't see a green anymore.

i just don't get the hate around Colin,

Colin is not your typical “male lead”, he is complex, kind, and sensitive. He is different from your classics and that is okay, you do not have to like it or understand it, but try and accept it because that is who he is, and that for me is what makes him a breath of fresh air.

The most beloved and accepted male leads are not the realistic ones, but the relatable ones. Relatable but not real.

People like to say that they want complex characters and when given those realistic and human, not perfect characters they bail. They chastise them and complain about how they are not dreamy and “are just too real”.

In the past seasons, we’ve been given very charming, dreamy, angry, and relatable male leads. Not “realistic”… “relatable” ones. But what we get from Colin is way different.
