{I Rise}

“Well, I guess if you’re up for it! Are you in the singles or doubles bracket?”

      “Doubles, I believe.....” Paul has not even witnessed a contest, so every thing is completely new to him.The battling part will be easy enough, but he fears he will come short with the Appeal round.

“Paul? Of all the people I expected to take this opportunity, you… weren’t exactly one of them.”

      Who was this person and why did she suddenly start talking to him? “I’ve been...bored lately. Thought this would rectify that.”

“Just a few whispers here, and there. Nothing really note worthy.” 

       He was surprised he stayed home this long too. Then again, Reggie’s health never did improve, “So...you came here just to check up on me? There’s got to be a better reason then that.” Especially since the two didn’t get along well when they first met.

“Then lets make haste. It’s honestly quite draining to talk to men sober.”

      “Fine, but I dunno where you live, so after you.”

It seemed that the two had changed dramatically from one another, heading towards different directions. Which hadn’t been too surprising given the circumstances as he visibly saw the surprise on Paul’s face. “That’s good,” he complimented with a sharp nod. “I’ve heard a few things here and there, but I never thought I’d see you here.” 

      “Yea, well this is my home...why wouldn’t I be here? Besides, my brother fell ill while I was traveling Kalos and couldn’t take care of the ranch by himself anymore.” Of course he tried to protest, telling Reggie to find someone else to help, but he eventually gave in, “What things have you heard, exactly?”

      Well, shit..he didn’t think she’d be this pissed, “I’m serious, I don’t remember your name. It’s uhh D--Dan?”

“I believe I have ginger ale and orange juice back at my manor, perhaps we could make mix drinks.”

      “Sure, I can force Reggie to look after the ranch while I blow off some steam.”

“Or you could simply stay alive and finish this bottle of vodka I have in my purse with me.”

      “I don’t drink unless it has some sort of orange flavoring in it.”
