Prompt Six.
This video would support students learning and understanding of how there so many different languages created and used by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders - this video could could be presented with a range of words from the languages for students to then explore. The class could begin to develop a collaborative dictionary.

Prompt Five.
This year for placement I was in a high school, streaming in Mathematics.
Therefore I will do my best to reflect on an experience last years placement.
The students were in grade 1 and 2 - on a weekly basis after a lunch break students returned to the classroom for their BIG WRITE session. The classroom atmosphere was set for written creativity; candlelight’s and music. Students sat and wrote about absolutely anything they desired for 20 minutes. I thought this was a fantastic experience that I would enjoy bringing into my own classroom.
I’m struggling to think of a bad experience as I feel very underexposed to the literacy elements of a class. I once team taught/guided a guided reading session. I felt I lost students a lot throughout the session and they were not all receiving a positive reading session experience. There seemed to be too much time spent on behaviour management, rather than actually learning.

Unfortunately I’ve never had the opportunity to make or even help create a classroom display. However this is something I REALLY look forward to and will also aim to get the students involved in the process. Classroom displays create a fantastic learning atmosphere.
Here is my poster on reading comprehension strategies.
A memory of being read to that immediately comes to mind, is one when I was in grade 3 or 4. We had a teacher that use to come in maybe once or twice a week to just sing with us, she was also a regular CRT. I remember pleading with her to read us these certain books; they were interactive chapter books. At first I could remember the name of them but something is pulling me towards the Goosebumps books. She read the books in such manner that everyone seemed to LOVE. the stories were generally exciting but the way she seemed to include who self in the story with her voice and expression just made it that much better! Also the set up of the books, you were able to choose where you wanted the story to go so that always helped to enrich the experience!
