dw anon you're not being rude, i can understand that it can be confusing on first glance.

to get a minor point out of the way, i just find them physically comfy. they're soft and like little cushions anywhere you sit and it feels like you're constantly getting a hug on your hips.

to me, the biggest aspect is an expression of control and care. if someone puts a diaper on you, they are implicitly declaring that they accept responsibility for taking care of you. it's a very warm, safe, and comfortably vulnerable feeling beyond the sum of its parts.

ageplay in general holds a lot of these connotations. ageplay can be an opportunity to re-capture the carefree nature of childhood, which can be sexually arousing to some people. remember that it doesn't involve actual children, and we aren't doing this out of fantasies of abusing children. the specific arousal comes from behaving like a child as an adult and the connotations that carries. it can frequently mix with other elements like rape role-play, degradation, etc. the way i interact with ageplay is both as a satisfying kink on its own and as a framework for my other interests. i like drinking blood, wearing diapers, and humiliating others, so a frequent motif of mine is that of a vampire who acts like a bratty toddler and abuses her "caregiver"/food source. the most frequent dynamic is that of the little as the submissive, but everything is flexible.

it can be very soft and caring, but they're also a very effective humiliation tool. i'll explain the allure of humiliation as well just in case you're newer to kink in general, not just diapers. humiliation is attractive to me both as a dominant and a submissive because it's a display of trust. when someone honors you with enough trust to allow you to break them down and make them feel lesser, it means they think well enough of you that they aren't afraid you'll truly hurt them. they allow you to crush them beneath your boot because they trust that you won't truly think lesser of them, and they know you'll take proper care of them afterward. as a submissive, it's a similar feeling. knowing i can allow someone to see me at my worst without their view of me changing is very comforting, along with the feeling of being made to be small and pathetic having its own pleasure via a sort of emotional masochism.

i'm sure i don't need to explain why diapers are humiliating. they're a symbol of lack of control and immaturity. when you put one on somebody, you are declaring that they are not mature enough to handle their own bodily functions, or you are simply humiliating them for your own entertainment.

they can also be fun to wear as the dominant, because it's a demonstration that no symbol or object is what makes the submissive lesser. the diaper does not make them beneath you, because you're wearing one as well. confidently showing off a garment that the submissive whines and tries to hide in embarrassment. it's a symbol of status and hierarchy twisted into a method of communicating that no mere symbol can capture what makes you as the dominant greater than the submissive. you simply are by nature or superiority of will.

they're also just super flexible and versatile? i've hardly heard of a single kink that can't incorporate diapers. petplay? puppy's not housebroken yet. bondage? no need to unbind for a bathroom break. sadomasochism? well you wouldn't want your victim to make a puddle from the pain. dollification? you're a baby doll. watersports? you don't need me to explain this one. it's like they're a magical kink object that just works with everything.
