None of the guys question Andy's role as the leader for even a second, and you get the impression she's leading them a place of love and wanting to guide and protect them, not, like, boss them around. And the guys are all kind and patient toward Nile, without ever being patronizing, but also don't question it when she leads everyone in the fight at the end. And of course there's Joe's speech calling the homophobic soldiers "infants".

Two female leads, one of them Black, neither of them sexualized. 

 Not even ONCE. 

 Both of them bad ass as fuck. 

And they both have space to be their own characters, with their own arcs.

 I’m sorry I can’t shut up about this movie. 

I’m just so fucking INTO everything it’s about! 

They’re always spooning when we see them asleep and Joe is always the big spoon. That one’s pretty obvious.

But also, Joe always has his back to a wall and/or an ally, while Nicky is in front of him, between Joe and the rest of the world, with a weapon in easy reach.

And when they get woken up by Nile’s nightmare, Joe grabs Nicky’s hip and Nicky grabs a gun.

secondly the fact that this is their normal everyday sleeping position makes me absurdly happy because look at them. just. look at them. i mean that is an absolutely god-tier cuddle right there. 10/10 snugs. look at that solid body contact, that nose to nape action, that cross-body arm hold. flawless execution.

- Definitely wanting to be a mad chemist who spends hours mixing chemicals together

- Reading Frankenstein one too many times and completely missing the moral

- Falling asleep among piles of theory and papers that are only partially completed, because passions and ideas switch very quickly

- Being OBSESSED with time travel, and how it could possibly be achieved

- Telling literally all your friends that they are made of the same things of stars
