Stromae has said many times that he was very self-conscious about his body growing up, and he jokes about it as a defense against his own insecurity. And this isn’t him just being insecure, he really is that thin. If you’ve ever met him or paid close attention to the Formidable video, you know what I mean. Believe it or not, in most videos he looks bigger than he really is because of the way the camera & lighting can add the appearance of 10-15 lbs to a person.

Stromae’s really skinny, and many of us assume skinny = weak. But those abs you see in that glorious picture above aren’t painted on…that’s all him, just sitting in a way to show off muscles that aren’t always obvious on his body type. Because of the way he’s built, he’ll never look “buff,” but if you’ve seen his show, you know how he keeps moving and jumping for up to 2 hours. His dancing takes a huge amount of strength and stamina, something only a performer at the top of his game could do night after night for 2 solid years of touring. Dude is FIT.

There are a few pictures out there that show how muscular he is; I’ll try to compile a collection soon.
