I've made a lot of fanart for these guys recently since finishing university so I'm gonna be posting all of them in the next coming days lmfao

If Garrancemau has no supporters then I'm d e a d. I love them so much, this silly little throuple has taken over my life in ways I did not think were possible.

I'm gonna yap about them rq because they're so special to me:

I always imagine each of them having something to keep them close with the others. Like Laurance has Aph and Garroth's hair braided into his own. Garroth has beads of each of their colours in a necklace he keeps under his collar. Aphmau has each of their colours decorating her hair in different ways like hair beads, hair clips, and ribbons.

The daughters of Phoenix Drop 💚❤️

This started off as a quick warm-up doodle but very quickly devolved into me actually thinking about my headcanons for Lilith-Garnet and Alina (Or Joey in this case)

Alina is now a Laurmau baby (I literally flipped a coin on who got to be the father, and it landed on my man Laurance lmfao). Johannah is named after Laurance's late father (Joh/Johanson) and she's a carbon copy of her mother except for her eyes. Joey's a very chipper and charismatic young girl who carries herself rather elegantly as she takes after Garroth's mannerisms and overall politeness. She wonders about her dad a lot and constantly asks her brother about him, to which Malachi will always cave. That man loves telling stories to his baby sisters.

Lilith-Garnet is the living embodiment of a firecracker. She gets in trouble a lot because of her rather colourful vocabulary that she picked up from all the adults in town, her favourite cuss word being "twat". Aphmau thinks its hilarious. Garroth does not.

Lilith-Garnet kept Aaron's surname because he was the one who initially adopted her before Aphmau took her in after he died. She's set to inherit his longsword once she's old (and tall) enough.

They both ask about their dads a lot, and both Aph and Garroth love telling them stories before bedtime. The two miss their husband and dearest friend a lot, and telling their daughters their stories helps them keep their memories alive.

Joey dreams of becoming a lord just like her mother and brother, and Lilith dreams of being a guard. They made a promise to each other that if Joey ends up a Lord, then Lilith will automatically be her head-guard so they can be there and protect each other for as long as they live.

Malachi is hard to draw...my design for him may change who knows.

We all agreee Malachi has horrific abandonment issues right?? right???

Like there's no way in hell he didn't experience horrible anxiety/depression when Laurance (HIS FUCKING DAD) dissapeared AGAIN...into HELL mind you...

Abandoned by his birth parents. Left behind by his adoptive parents for 15 years. Then his dad dissapears into the nether for years with no hope of seeing him again.

AND YET, I think he still speaks rather highly about Laurance. When his sisters ask about their dad whom they have never met, Malachi remembers the kind hearted and charismatic man who he met in the moving castle. The man who stayed with him when he felt utterly alone in the world. In the 15 years his parents were missing, he held onto Laurance's scarf, secretly hoping that he would return. And he still holds on to it with the hope that one day Laurance will return from The Nether.

Laurance left his sword behind for Malachi, but he chose to save it for Joey because, 1) he has no practical use for it since he doesn't really fight, and 2) Joey doesn't have anything to remember her father by so Malachi decides it will he her sword, not his.

That moment when you sleep with both your partners and don't know who landed the shot.

This makes me think of Bruce as a good caregiver.

He makes Kudo rest when he needs to, even scolding him when he doesn’t treat an injury or dismisses its severity. This happens way too often, so Bruce is the one who treats Kudo's wounds after every mission, because he doesn't trust Kudo to do it right.

He also takes care of Yoichi; if he sees that Yoichi is very weak, he helps him lie down and rest, holding him gently for fear of hurting him. He has a habit of placing his hand on Yoichi’s forehead all the time to check for a fever, something that always makes Yoichi smile because of how sweet it is.

Sometimes he takes such good care of others that he forgets about himself, until Kudo himself scolds and forces him to sleep for an entire day. But he can’t do it, so Kudo and Yoichi end up lying on top of him just to keep him from getting up and make sure he rests.

Actually, if that’s the reward he gets, Bruce doesn’t mind going days without sleep.

What connects Zane and Garroth, the thing they both share is devotion.

Garroth is devoted to Aphmau, phoenix drop, the people he loves. His betrayal was a moment where he turned his back on those loyalties but I think despite that, Garroth at his best embodies this. Theres a reason that hes still loyal to aphmau in season 3 despite his (out of character) issues with her at the end of season 2. There's a reason Laurence says he would struggle to kill Zenix if the situation called for it, theres a reason he tells aphmau and laurance to not worry about him and be happy together in season 2. Garroth practices a sort of self sacrificing loyalty thats based on his ideals. He doesn't blindly follow Aphmau out of duty, he follows her because he believes in her, in what she stands for, in the world she wants to shape.

Zane is also devoted, in a much different way. Not to irene, liked he'd lead you to believe. Zane is performative. He doesn’t really care about irene or her followers, he sees the power of devotion as a means to an end, using the devotion of others to his advantage. But zane still is devoted. Not to power as you might initally think, but to his father. Zane so badly wants to step out of the shadow of his brothers and be worthy of his father, the lust for power, too, is a means to an end. Because if he just gets something powerful for Garte, something to prove his worth, then finally he'll be looked at instead of dismissed. Finally the one person whose approval he actually cares about will acknowledge him. Zanes devotion is blind. He doesn’t care what Garte does or how he is. He has tunnel vision, with everything narrowing down Gartes approval.

Esmund, as we can glean from the glimpse of backstory we get to see, may have embodied a combination of these two types of devotion. His love for irene warping his view. While garroth leans more towards loyalty, and zanes is how devotion can spiral into obsession, Edmund is somewhere in the middle and can lean either closer or further from either of his descendents depending on your interpretation. He too utilizes the devotion his fellow divine warriors in order to drive them to action with him against shad. Whether or not these actions were out of a sense of pure concern for irene or something more selfish we can't say, however I'm inclined to believe the answer is somewhere in the middle.

She's a freak in my heart. So is Laurance. Rip Garroth
