Secrets can have a serious impact on our mental health. Keeping secrets, especially when it comes to difficult emotions or experiences, can lead to feelings of shame and guilt which in turn leads to depression and anxiety. It’s important for us all to be honest with ourselves about what we are hiding; talk about your struggles openly with someone you trust so that you don't feel isolated by them anymore How many secrets are you holding right now? If the answer is around 13, you're about average, according to research on the nature of secrets. Secrets aren't all bad. Some are rather trivial. But sometimes, keeping secrets can weigh us down and cause psychological distress.

As you go about your daily activities, pay attention to how you respond to what people say or do to you as well as how you respond to people.
