He DRUGGED her. This worthless bastard then proceeded to text in a group chat to his friends LOLing about the situation AFTER HE KILLED AND RAPED HER and send explicit photos of her. He used her cold dead fingertips to unlock her phone and message her PARENTS who were WORRIED sick about her posing to be her. And post to her SOCIAL MEDIA.

TO TOP IT THE FUCK OFF HE tried to fit her corpse into a BIN TO GET AWAY WITH IT. He has admitted to everything. There’s actually more to the story, this guy deserves fucking life.

It’s been a year since I was left to live alone, and I’ve finally gotten the word back from my doctor that it's killing me.

I suffer from Fibromyalgia and CPTSD(the suspected cause of a whole health of poor immune responses and other health issues.) I sleep shallowly and fitfully, and wake up in the mornings barely able to breathe. In the last three months I’ve made multiple trips to A&E, with fibro flares so bad the first responders had to check for a heart attack first.

… Why?

My current flat is leaky, creaky, and full of black mould. My landlord is entitled, violent, and not afraid to try to use his key to get in whenever there’s an issue. 

Past appeals to our letting agent and other authorities to control him (after a series of surprise visits only coming when my girlfriend and I may have been still in bed, for reasons I’m sure are obvious and upsetting) have only resulted in more visits and poorly-concealed threats.

Only a month ago the roof began to cave in, leading to giant torrents of water flooding the hallway outside, going unfixed for days. The front door stillhasn’t been replaced properly and swings open in any weather.

I can’t manage to go to work with my symptoms this bad and keep on top of regularly scrubbing and drying the multiple damp patches, so they’ve entrenched. As someone already susceptible to lung infections after a horrible months-long battle with bronchitis last year, I’m on borrowed time.

What I’m asking for is money to cover a handful of simple things.

1. Pay the deposit and first few months on a new flat, with a better regulated landlord and no ongoing rot issues. My girlfriend is willing and able to sign the lease with me, as she qualifies for a Commonwealth Mobility Visa that would give her five years to finish her studies and find work in the area, further helping with our finances. The chance to live somewhere with a door that locks - to not have to sleep with my keys in the lock at all time for my own protection - would be lifesaving.

2. Pay a moving company to help me save what I can of my furniture and get it there. We had to sell our car last Christmas, and have been unable to replace it since. I’ve spent a year cooking exclusively on a foreman grill and in a rice cooker, so the opportunity to pick up a secondhand stove would also be lifesaving.

3. A support cushion to cover any bills in the meanwhile. I need to find a course of medication that manages my ever-increasing pain, on the advice of my current doctor (whose treatment this year has taken me from needing a cane just to stand, to being able to cycle again, so I trust her). Experimenting with that intersection of medicines will be a long and difficult road, and anything we don’t spend getting to safety will be spent protecting us finanically from side-effects that impact my ability to work. 

£8,000 is a lot of money to need but I’m hoping it’s not too much to raise. 

This Christmas, give me the gift of somewhere safe to live. Give me my life back.

Instead I will be reading and thinking about Ted Bundy’s victims. I wonder where their movies are. I wonder why their names aren’t raised.

I wonder why we don’t hear about Lynda Ann Healy, a 21 year old psychology major about to graduate that semester. Lynda worked with handicapped children and got up early every day to report on the skiing conditions for local radio.

I wonder why we don’t hear about Debra Kent, a 17 year old aspiring social worker who was known for always having change to feed parking meters for strangers.

I wonder why we don’t hear about Susan Curtis. Susan was only 15 years old and was riding her bike to church that day. She was a star on her high school track team.

In a world filled with kind, beautiful people, I wonder why we all know Ted Bundy’s name. I wonder if that isn’t giving him and people like him exactly what he wanted. And frankly I’m sick of hearing people talk about him.

I’d like to talk about 12 year olds Lynette Culver and Kimberly Leach, neither of whom turned 13 because Ted Bundy stole their innocence and their lives from them. Kimberly had just been elected first runner up “Valentine Queen” by her peers and never got to wear that pretty new dress. Do you think her parents still have that dress, hanging in the back of a closet? I bet they do. I bet her dad sits with it in his darkest moments. You ever thought about him when you hear the name Ted Bundy?

Let’s talk about 19 year old Susan Rancourt, who had a 4.0 GPA. 17 year old Laura Aime. 18 year old Georgeann Hawkins. 23 year old Janice Ott. 26 year old Nancy Wilcox. 23 year old Caryn Campbell. 17 year old Melissa Smith. 19 year old Donna Manson, who was an excellent flute player and by all accounts a bit of a goth. 20 year old Kathy Parks. 22 year old Brenda Ball. 20 year old Lisa Levy. 21 year old Margaret Bowman. 25 year old Denise Oliverson, who had just gotten into a spat with her new husband and had gone for a walk to clear her mind. Denise weighed 105 pounds. She was bound, gagged, raped, mutilated and thrown from a fast moving car. Have you ever considered what HIS life has been like since that day? How many hours of his life do you think have been spent on the floor, clutching the ring he had given her, apologizing into thin air?

These stories are real. These people are REAL.

I get that Ted Bundy was handsome and his eyes were very blue but please. Please stop glamorizing him like this. He ended and ruined lives. Nothing about him is cool or worthy of emulation. Ted Bundy raped, tortured, mutilated and strangled over 30 females, including 12 year old girls. None of his victims weighed more than 115 pounds.

Ted Bundy was a pathetic man.

Emulate Lynda. Emulate Debra. Raise their names and their voices to those around you. Honor them. They were very real people with promising lives and futures stretched ahead of them, stolen.

Please don’t elevate or whitewash this kind of rampant violence against women. I assure you the world is harsh enough for us without a new generation thinking Ted Bundy is a cool, fascinating guy.

Okay. I’m Canadian so I know a shit ton about staying warm if you’re new to the cold there here are some tips!(add more if you know more!)

1. Wear grippy shoes, nothing is worse than snowmelt freezing on your skin.

2.Do not wear jeans as your outter layer. wet denim is the most body heat siphoning mother fucker known to man or god

3. Have a warm drink with you. It will help. Even just some hot soup broth or boiled water will help keep you warm.

4. Wear a moisture wicking layer close to your skin so you don’t get cold from your own sweat. You will sweat. That is fine and expected.

5. If you start feeling too warm even though you were cold and like you have to take your clothes of DO NOT. Call 911. You are suffering from hypothermia.

6. Bring a blanket and a heat source that needs no electricity with you in your vehicle. You do not want to be stranded with no heat in the case that something happens.

7. If you are struggling on ice as you’re walking, stop. Get your balance and penguin shuffle to a less slippery patch of ground. There’s usually less ice on one side of the walk and it’s better to walk in the snow next to the sidewalk than it is to eat dirt when ya slip

8. STAY THE ABSOLUTE FUCK AWAY FROM FROZEN BODIES OF WATER. Ponds are deceptive as shit even with the “solid blue tried and true” thing. Go around.

9. Keep kids warm. They run at a higher body temperature and will feel the effects of the cold worse than you.

10. Huddling is your best friend. Even if you don’t know the person, remember you’re both cold, especially if they don’t have the right clothing for the weather.

11. Pay attention to windchill. That is how cold it feels. Dress appropriately please. I know it’s tempting to dress for style, but there’s nothing stylish about losing your toes to frostbite

12. Don’t touch metal if you can avoid it. It will sap your heat and likely freeze to anything wet. Like tongues. Don’t fucking lick a pole.

13. If someone licks something metal, pour warm water over their tongue to get them free. If they yank, they will bleed. A lot.

14. Keep your ears, noes, fingers, and toes warm. You’re extremities will get cold first and are the most likely parts of your body to get frostbite.

15. If you see someone who may not have a place to be in the cold, offer to help them find a local shelter or library. The elements, especially the cold, are some of the largest threats to those who cannot avoid them.

You can also, if you’re so inclined, make a little winter shelter for cats and small animals fairly easily and cheaply.

IF YOU REFUSE TO GO TO A SHELTER, THE CITY IS SUPPLYING BUSES FOR YOU TO SLEEP IN THAT ARE WARMED. PLEASE FIND ONE! PLEASE A TENT IS NOT ENOUGH FOR THIS WEATHER. 

DON’T KNOW IF THIS HAS YET BEEN SHARED BUT THIS IS ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT.
