Which made me oddly happy. I started imagining a world in which we replaced the phrase “politically correct” wherever we could with “treating other people with respect”, and it made me smile. 

You should try it. It’s peculiarly enlightening.

I know what you’re thinking now. You’re thinking “Oh my god, that’s treating other people with respect gone mad!”

I’m a very enthusiastic watcher of television and I also often find myself surrounded by christians who get incredibly offended if I mention shows like lucifer or good omens. I understand that some people will always consider shows like these blasphemous but how do I explain to my friends that the shows (and most of their fanbases) aren’t necessarily expressing hatefulness or disrespect to people or their beliefs?

At this point Good Omens has lots of lovely approving reviews from a number of Christian publications, and was awarded the prestigious Sandford Martin award for religious television. So you can smile at them kindly and tell them that they are being silly.
