I need to stop replying to “how do you make friends in your 30s?” threads because all my answers boil down to “you have to want to know people instead of have friends” and I don’t think people wanna hear that

It’s like. People can tell if you don’t really like or connect with them. If you aren’t truly enamored with someone you will have a hard time coming up with activities to do together to deepen the friendship. Because you don’t really like that person that much.

the first time I was called gay was while playing hockey. First time I heard a gay slur, I was playing hockey. THIS is why heated rivalry is so important, especially to young canadians. So many of us left the sport we love due to homophobia. My best friend and I grew up playing hockey and now we’re both queer and healing with this show. To many, this will just be a fun sexy hockey show. But to a lot of us, this is a story we never could’ve dreamed about seeing in hockey, a story we knew wouldn’t exist for ourselves if we stayed in the sport. The hurt caused by the hockey world runs deep and wide, that is why this show is so important. It’s so so much more than just a sexy hockey show
