The Lost & Found

It used to be my favorite oversized shirt until a rogue bleaching agent gave him a scar across the front. I couldn’t bear to give him away, so I kept him thinking I would do some kind of bleach design of some kind. Fast forward YEARS from then and I’m finally gonna get into it.

Kinda looks like a fish, doesn’t it?

I think I might try just bleach brushing it with different solutions of bleach for detail, then if I feel like I didn’t do enough definition on the design, I’ll go in with some embroidery thread and attempt some sashiko stitches.

Part two of my AEO Jean patchwork/embroidery project! When I wear these I feel like they could be complete, but something is still gnawing at me. I’m wondering if I should add vines or stems to the white flowers. Or maybe I should add that vine frame to the other side too for some more cohesion . I think I’ll probably just sleep on it, but I’m down for some suggestions!

This has been a long journey of pleading and screaming with my Janome sewing machine. Plus rethinking how to layer fabric and do literally every part of this process. But it’s OVER (for now, still kinda want to make adjustments still). I actually had a good time and will be doing something like this again.

It’s like giving birth, you forget about how terrible it was! LOL

(I know exactly what to do now but it’s the execution… THE EXECUTION)

I am having a terrible time 😭

I swear I have all my settings right but my foot pedal is VERY temperamental… I also wanted to do satin stitch around the borders but I couldn’t figure it out. Honestly I should just sew down one set of waves and just hand sew the edges of all of them with embroidery thread. I think that’s the only way I’m going to get the clean edge I want and not defenestrate myself. (Even if it takes 1.5 billion years)

Learned a new crochet stitch/pattern! Something about these colors gives me nostalgia. Unsure why…

Trapezoidal one was my first attempt. Then I got bored LOL. Kind of wished I experimented more on that one but I was stressing tf out that I was gonna do it wrong. Don’t stress. It will never come out how you want anyway (unless you are a shibori god).
