Remember his name. He is a hero. Richard M. Fierro. Around us always are people ready to do the right thing. Be that person. 

From the @nytimes: COLORADO SPRINGS — Richard M. Fierro said he was at a table in Club Q with his wife, daughter and friends on Saturday, watching a drag show, when the sudden flash of gunfire ripped across the nightclub. His instincts from four combat deployments as an Army officer in Iraq and Afghanistan instantly kicked in. Fight back, he told himself. In an interview at his house, where his wife and daughter were still recovering from injuries, Mr. Fierro, 45, who left the Army in 2013 as a major, according to military records, described charging through the chaos at the club, tackling the gunman and beating him bloody with the gunman’s own gun. “I don’t know exactly what I did, I just went into combat mode,” Mr. Fierro said, shaking his head. “I just know I have to kill this guy before he kills us.”

We also happened to love the movie along the way, but we got deep into the physics of it. Like, deep deep. General relativity shit, the math of causality violation, so much deep niche physics. And then one of the engineers casually commented, “Hmm. None of those are the big problem though.”

All us general relativity people: “Oh?”

Engineer: “Yeah. The real problem was that they needed the really big rocket to get off of earth but only those tiny itty bitty landers to clear a gravitational field so intense it causes massive time dilation.”
