âThis is humiliating.â Max huffed, falling back from where he sat on the curb to lay back in defeat across the sidewalk. As if his dead car battery wasnât bad enough, a dead cell phone meant he had no other options: he had to call Gio from his work phone. Now he was waiting outside the roller skating rink, his work shirt thrown over his shoulder and hands covering his face. âSorry. Donât mind me. Just go ahead and step on me.â He groaned as he heard footsteps approaching him.
Timmy had seen the guy on the ground and had gotten curious. Walking slowly over, he crouched once he was sure it was just a dude having a moment, and not like...someone who was day drunk. âIâll pass but thanks. Your car not starting or something?â he asked, sitting down on the curb. He probably had homework stuff to do, but it could wait. âYou already call someone?â
