Krubits, allmoge, dalahorses and wool embroidery is of many seen as something typically Swedish, centuries of crafts that is developed as entertainment and for one extra potato on the plate. That is Sweden. Or, that is what Sweden was. We have exchanged our home made spinning wheels to a digital box from SIBA and we have let electronics take over our homes. Every year, Swedish people throw away 16 kg of electronic waste per person. Counted as e-scrap is everything that is driven by either a battery or a chord. Some things are recycled, but according to FN's environment program UNEP, 15% of the dumps in Africa consists of e-scrap from other continents, mostly from Europe. This is because of the fact that labour is much cheaper in Africa since old TV's must be separated and taken care of by hand.

In this project we have analyzed our contemporary lifes by looking back at old Swedish culture and questioned where Sweden stands today. The chord is a symbol for the electronic revolution and we have aimed the spotlights to it in order to point out our mass consumption of electronic products and inability to take care of them when we consider that they have come out of time.
