Never understood the idea that he’s a boring, generic character with no flaws, because I don’t think that’s how he’s presented in the books. The guy cannot stop himself from getting into everybody’s business whether they like it or not (I’m convinced that he figured out who Lion, Holly, and Jay’s true parents were way before Holly spilled the beans). From Fire and Ice onward he is a ball of anxiety. Beginning with Rising Storm he’s consistently paranoid about Tigerclaw on top of stressing with being deputy. He gets jumped-scared at baby Bramblekit because he’s mini-me of Tigerstar. He is simultaneously really observant and really oblivious. Somehow he figured out that Mistyfoot and Stonefur were Bluestar’s missing kits, sussed out that Graystripe was seeing Silverstream relatively quickly, and uncovered Tigerclaw’s numerous schemes and yet can’t catch on that Sandstorm likes him until Cinderpelt has to straight up tell him (and whether you want to consider it canon or not the fact that Cinderpelt also crushed on him). He also misinterpreted Spottedleaf warning him about a cat that’s not to be trusted as being Graystripe when Tigerclaw, who he’s been wary of almost since day one, is right there. And honestly, I think Firestar’s by far one of the most proactive mains the series has. I just really love my funky lil’ guy.
