"Prra-a, could you come here?" The young apprentice perked up at the croon from Willowpelt. The grey tom glanced over to where his mentor, Lionface, was chatting with Tigerclaw and figured a few moments could be spared.

"What's up, Ma?" Greypaw padded over with a friendly raise of his tail when he noticed Whitestorm nearby, who blinked at him with a warm greeting.

Thick as his fur his head may be, he wasn't that dense. He noticed how frequently his Ma and Whitestorm hung out together. It didn't bother him, it– Well, he didn't really want to think about it, so he didn't.

But now, he may just need to think about it.

"You already know Whitestorm but I want you to meet him as the sire to your future siblings and my mate." Willowpelt purred, it was clear she was nervous but that didn't stop the elation dancing in her eyes when she glanced over to the older warrior.

For a moment, Greypaw could see it, how the two lost themselves in each other's gaze, soft and true. It was sweet, he was happy for his Ma-a.

At least, he should be. He just didn't know why instead of such feelings, all he could feel was something dimming inside him.

"That's great!" He mewed out in support, because he did support them! Whitestorm would be a good mate for Willowpelt and it was a given that his Ma-a will be too.

"Should I start calling you Kapa?" His question stunned the older cats and Greypaw tried not to rear his ears back.

"I suggest we take some time first, to get to know each other, Greypaw." Whitestorm crooned kindly but he wasn't dense. That was a rejection, plain and simple.

"Yeah, okay- That's, that's fair. Maybe later, I have to- Lionface is taking me out hunting." The apprentice stepped back, he was going to be a warrior, it'd be so lame for him to be so upset when this was a good thing for his Mara-a.

"Greypaw-"

"Greypaw! Come on, lad. Bluestar is taking us on patrol!" Lionface boomed across the camp and he was quick to run to his call, everything in his body wanted to just get out of this camp.

He didn't want to think about it. So, he won't.

Greypaw should just be glad his half-siblings will have a Kapra-a in their life. A complete family.

First thought is absolutely not, I've already committed to making Darkstripe Willowpelt's brother and Graystripe's dad and rewriting Dappletail and Thrushpelt would be hella annoying.

Second thought is that this would actually be fantastic and reinforce how the clans' bigotry leads to cats pairing off with their own cousins rather than outsiders. Makes Graystripe's insistence on partnering only with outsiders (once cross clan, one kittypet) a sort of rebellion against this culture.

Two things about this Tangleburr! Firstly she's a chimera, which is why she's gray with brown patches! And second, anytime I see a cat whose prefix is something like Tangle, Fuzzy, Wooly, or anything along those lines, I always want to give them funky textured fur, so I made Tangleburr a wirehair. It may not make a lot of sense for her to be so, but it's not like canon particularly cares about realism tbf. Tangleburr is already gray (dilute) with brown patches (non dilute) and that doesn't really make sense. Which is why I said she's a chimera (while making these, I just had her set as genetically solid gray. She was a bit tricky to figure out tbh)

Sootfur was born in the book Rising Storm and was born around page 73. His birth happens greenleaf so we can assume it is during the months June-August since Warriors takes place on the UK and according to the MET office, those are the UK's 'summer months'. The book starts a quarter moon after Tigerclaw was kicked out and Fireheart became deputy, which is followed by the horrible new-leaf floods. So a quarter moon after the floods I think would leave the start of Rising Storm at mid-May to late June? I'm actually unsure. But the time between that and Sootkit, Rainkit, and Sorrelkit's birth lands the time span in June or July... and it's June! So happy birthday month (maybe) Sootfur! I love you! You make my life more happy ❤️ if i got any of that info wrong... its ok
