Since the last ask was about mothwing I'll continue the chain!
What are your thoughts on mothwing from the broken code arc? Me personally I did not feel like that was mothwing and just gaslighted myself into thinking that it wasn't I doubt she would actually do/say stuff like that to shadowsight π
I think I can see the angle they were trying to take with Mothwing in TBC. Like: she'd been kicked out of her Clan that she'd served faithfully for years, for an extremely stupid reason. And that stupid reason was made all the worse by it being Mistystar who kicked her out (a cat who Mothwing ostensibly has a very close relationship with, and who is HERSELF half-Clan. So Mistystar kicking Mothwing out of RiverClan for the reason of not having RiverClan parents is doubly idiotic.)
So I can see how that would make a more bitter and angry Mothwing, looking for someone to blame for her situation (Shadowsight.) But at the same time, I feel like TBC (and tbh Warriors in general) will often twist cats' personalities around to suit the story they want to tell. And it is obvious in TBC that the narrative they wanted was for Shadowsight to feel very victimized, so they picked Mothwing to be one of their vessels for that.
