My honest spoiler-free thoughts? Take Star Trek: TMP, Project Hail Mary and a gallon of pure distilled hope and you've got this game. It's incredible, I think anyone who likes either of those movies should absolutely play it

No one can convince me that Ryland Grace doesn't also pack bond with the Mary. That is a man that talks about his ship like she's his wife. Don't think about Ryland Grace, booting up some of the video games on the Hail Mary during the trip to Erid and relating a bit too much to Link from Breath of the Wild.
Waking up alone and confused, having to piece together the memories of who he was and what he's here for- having to save a ruined civilization when you barely even know your own name and at the end, Link is what Grace would have been, had he gone home. The people he knew are probably long gone by now, save for a few, and he'd have been expected to- what, just carry on?
At least Link had a monster.
