The world changes too fast. You take your eyes off something that’s always been there, and the next minute it’s just a memory.
Michel Faber, The Book of Strange New Things
Sussex, England. A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. Although the house he lived in is long gone, he is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock, and her mother and grandmother. He hasn’t thought of Lettie in decades, and yet as he sits by the pond (a pond that she’d claimed was an ocean) behind the ramshackle old farmhouse, the unremembered past comes flooding back. And it is a past too strange, too frightening, too dangerous to have happened to anyone, let alone a small boy.
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
March TBR
King of Scars - Leigh Bardugo
Nevernight - Jay Kristoff
Clockwork Princess - Cassandra Clare
The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet - Becky Chambers
I also plan on rereading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett
Books are adventure. They contain murder and mayhem and passion. They love anyone who opens them.

when rainbow rowell said “one of the great epiphanies of my lifetime was realizing that i disliked so many female characters because they were created by men who didn’t like women”
February TBR
This month I want to read:
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
If I have time left I also want to read The Martian by Andy Weir.
January Wrap Up
My TBR for this month was:
- Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare (6.5/10)
- The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher (8.5/10)
- Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer (5.5/10)
- Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo (6.5/10)
You can also find my ratings on my goodreads account here.
I also read the first three stories of The Bane Chronicles (what really happened in Peru / the runaway queen / vampires, scones and Edmund Herondale) by Cassandra Clare and I read about half of Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo, which I originally put on my TBR for February. I’m reading the shadowhunter books in chronological order based on the events in the books, that’s why I only read some of the stories from the Bane Chronicles. You can find the timeline I use here on the shadowhunters website.
Interesting choice 2 read the shadowhunter chronicles like this!!

In my best sarcasm, I can’t posssibly imagine who inspired this book.
Some luck dragons I’ve been working on the past couple of days. I love The Neverending Story, even though I still think the movie is creepy as hell.
