Flashback Friday! End Of Data were a French Coldwave four piece formed in 1983, they stuck around long enough to give us two extremely solid albums - 1985's Dans Votre Monde and their debut of 1984, Sahrah. Here's the video for the amazing title track.

Out now on one of my favourite labels, Moscow's how2make is the debut LP from the Ukraine's Kulakostas. Blending lush orchestral moments with the glitchy electronica how2make are known for, this is definitely one to check out.

Out last week is the second LP from Eprom, entitled Halflife. The Portland based producer combines elements of glitch, hip hop, dubstep and grime into something uniquely dark and menacing. Over the past few years he’s been creating quite the name for himself in the West Coast scene with big names such as Flying Lotus, The Gaslamp Killer and DJ Shadow counting themselves as fans. A happy 30th birthday today to Russian artist Roma Litvinov aka Mujuice. His latest EP ‘Mistakes & Regrets’ was released in September last year and was without a doubt one of my favourite releases of 2012. Check it out on Bandcamp and buy it for €1. It’d be rude not to.

Danny Brown - 25 Bucks feat. Purity Ring

Danish producer Anders Trentemøller has just released latest LP, Lost featuring Jonny Pierce of the Drums, Jana Hunter of Lower Dens, Sune Rose Wagner of the Raveonettes, Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead and more. But whilst it’s his most collaboration heavy release yet, he manages to ensure that his signature sound is ever present across all of the tracks. Standouts for me are the pulsing electronica of Still On Fire, the bass heavy post punk of Never Stop Running and the krautrock influenced and very UNKLE sounding Trails which you can listen to here.

Canadian Jessy Lanza releases her debut album Pull My Hair Back this month. Jessy first came to prominence with the release of her brilliant debut single Kathy Lee back in June. The album was co-produced by Jeremy Greenspan of Junior Boys, and Jessy actually did backing vocals on their 2011 release, It’s All True. The story goes that Jessy and Jeremy bonded over their love for 80s and 90s RnB and began to collaborate immediately. The album is a stunning mix of Jessy’s sultry vocals and Jeremy’s icy and distant electronics. A truly great RnB album and I hope that it gets the attention that it deserves. Here’s my favourite track, 5785021.

As a massive fan of both their releases, and of their separate outfits Apparat and Modeselektor, a new release from Moderat was never going to be much of a hard sell to me. 4 years after their full length self-titled debut, they return this month with II. Although being a bit more subdued than their debut, it finds Sascha Ring, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary finding a whole lot more of a sonic cohesiveness. On the debut, it was always blaringly obvious who the principal songwriter/s were – on the one hand you had tracks like Rusty Nails which wouldn’t have been out of place on Apparat’s Walls release, whilst on the other you had Slow Match and Sick With It, which could easily have been on Modeselektor’s Monkeytown. This time around they give us tracks such as the brilliant Milk and Therapy, both of which beautifully combine the driving beats that Modeselektor are known for, with the airy atmospherics of Apparat. A brilliant record, go get it. Here’s the first single, Bad Kingdom.
