Prompt #2410
“Watch out, with a fashion sense like that I might just end up falling in love with you.”
“This is an excellent team-up. Really, off to a great start. It’s not like I mock your outfit choices.”
Blackout blinked. “No, that was a self-burn. Like yeah, I’m kinda surprised you have two supersuits that are exactly the same except for the color palette and the fact that this one glows, but it was- that was about me. Mocking my tendency to fall for chicks in tights, right?”
“It’s a jumpsuit.” Limelight doesn’t look away from the building they’re scoping out, and really, genuinely, Blackout hadn’t been making fun of her suit, but the fact that her night-mode was just a grey and green version of her daytime white and yellow was shocking.
“No, like- like superhero tights? It’s a saying.”
“I know.”
“This is an excellent team-up. Really, off to a great start.”
That makes Limelight smile, just a bit of a smirk that Blackout can barely see since she’s still checking the place out, and come on. They’ve put aside nemeses-ship for the sake of a common enemy, she can stop pretending she isn’t amused by Blackout’s incredible wit.
Unfortunately, Limelight has apparently decided that “covert operation” translates to “no conversation”, so it’s up to Blackout to save the day, as usual.
“Why does this one glow by the way. Not trying to dunk on your cyberpunk vibe or anything, but this is an undercover mission and the neon-sign stripes are... kinda... not that.”
“I’ll turn it off when we get closer.”
“It turns off? It literally only glows for the aesthetic, doesn’t it? Of course it does, given this and your purity-white day look I’m surprised you took the hit to get them made in Kevlar and not something shinier.”
“Unfortunately, not everyone can wear full latex catsuits.”
“You’ve literally just described my dream universe.”
Limelight strangles what could’ve been a snicker in a less cursed timeline. “Shut up. And get down, patrol at two o’clock.”

This prompt felt very Blackout, and I’m glad I finally got to see how fun it is to write from her perspective!
