hokey religions and ancient weapons

i liked the comic where lex fakes giving lois stage four cancer and then has reoccurring intrusive increasingly graphic fantasies of clark bursting in his room and killing him while clark is with his therapist talking about how he doesn't hate lex. which lex only did because he thought the only way to save a deeply traumatized superman was by helping define clark via their relationship. when lois catches wise to the fact that the cancer is fake, she explicitly tells clark that her obsession with him goes back as long as lex's and has made her just as crazy (she was faking being pregnant to avoid telling clark she'd gone to lex for help with him and he'd given her cancer). clark's therapist refers to lex in their session as his abuser and clark when confronting lex again when talking about how he used to try to understand lex before just dedicating all of his efforts to avoid provoking or triggering lex. which is all to say i find the framing of clark's relationship with lex as a parallel (and toxic version!) to his romantic relationship with lois. in this comic. which was really fun for me personally.
