Masayuki Matsumoto was 20 years old, when Hiroshima was destroyed by the nuclear bomb.He was a driving force in the Liaison Council of Black Rain Hibakusha groups. Relentlessly working for the recognition of all Hibakusha and for the Process to demand official recognition. On 23rd of July, the process of the Black Rain Hibakusha came to an end. After 5 years the judge ruled that about 80 people active in the trial will now be officially recognized as survivors of the atomic bomb. I am so happy about this victory for those that have been excluded from the ‚official heavy rain area‘ sind 1978 and struggling to be recognized since 1945. Kiyoko Sumikawa erinnert sich genau, wie die Menschen nach der Bombardierung Hiroshimas ihr Wasser aus Flüssen und Brunnen bezogen. Sie kochten damit und tranken es. Warum die Regierung bis heute nicht anerkennt, dass radioaktive Strahlung so in ihren Körper gelante, versteht die damals 11-jährige bis heute nicht. Iwao Matsumoto war 5 Jahre alt, als er beim Spielen mit Freunden auf einer Brücke vom Schwarzen Regen überrascht wurde. Muneoka, Okita, Miyamoto, Tagawa – alle Freunde, mit denen er an diesem Tag spielte, sind bereits an Krebs gestorben. Die Brücke überspannt einen der Flüsse, die seit 1978 das offiziell anerkannte Niederschlagsgebiet begrenzen.
