Q. Among the ghost's poems, I'm really stuck on “the young one who ran away was struck by an arrow, like the last steps of a deer.” since it seems weirder than all the flowers talk from before. Is it like that in KR too?

A. Ok the section says "my lover, your run is like the last steps of a deer struck by an arrow, like the delicate rain of early summer". It's commenting on KSE running away from it.

A. 'yay' is basically correct. He says '얏호'

Q. Did KSE really say 'luck meta'?

A. Yes that is the literal and correct translation. He says something like "good thing I decided to go with the luck meta early on". Yes he is using the word 'meta' in the gaming sense, as in strategy. It's not an uncommon online way of speaking.

Q. Is "Anyway, this worker getting a job is a job." correct translation?

A. I'd tl it as "regardless of how the worker is, a job is a job" meaning, well, he is presumably contracted to work there & so can even the bureau just ignore private company's contracts like that. since he follows it up with 'wouldn't the bureau be saving the security team underground daydream first if they could get people out legally like that'

A. Lee Gyeol's way of talking changed earlier in the convo, he goes from speaking utmost respectful language to speaking in casual language (the way he communicated with KSE in his student guise) the moment KSE confirms he's the transfer student. Here he calls him kkondae aka 'old fart' (꼰대) which is a term for a stuck-in-their-way old person and EHJ's nickname for RJK.

A. I'd tl the whole thing as 'Did you hear anything like this? a voice, sounding like it's calling for their lover... a nice voice like that.'

1) his constant dreams of the pop up store is both connected to DER world fr, and a dream he can wake up from, at the same time (since previously he was able to leave the pop up store by waking up)

KSE sees the passageway to underground & it's so dark that it just looks like a dark hole -> he puts one foot forward into the passageway -> turns out there's no stairs so he just falls downstairs -> tries to grab onto whatever he can -> grabs onto what turns out to be a piece of the broken wooden floor -> but then, later realizes that it's not a piece of the floor he was holding on to, but a statue -> statue is wrapped in rough string, which burrows into his hand

This is the type of the ritual table KSE is seeing! It's called gosa(고사). Traditionally there's a pig's head.

You usually do it wishing for good luck on a new opening (opening a shop, crank in of a new movie etc)

In 373 it just says it's their religious activity so we dk what exactly they're doing it for (unless I missed it)

To be clear it's not praying to the pig, the pig's head and the other foodstuff are the offerings to the skies.

Fun fact - irl they did it for the crank in of bong joonho's film snowpiercer (though just using a pic of a pig's head) so chris evans, john hurt etc bowed down in front of the table and everything.

2. 377: the ritual for the doll (sumanggut)

On the doll there's a talisman. On the talisman there are words - words for the ritaul of sumanggut (수망굿)

It's a ritual for drowned souls, to send them to the afterworld.

omg this was so fun. KSE starting from the bottom again! Climbing his way up! I didn't even know how much I missed it!

Jin Nasol...!! Honestly didn't expect her to be the first one to meet KSE. It was so fun! Since she didn't have an emotional goodbye with KSE we were able to jump right into the survival & the ghost story, haha. And she's got a bob cut now! Plus more emphasis on her migraines...
