gdcg ep 407 mtl help & thoughts
Q. i am a little confused the section where its mentioned about a chair, did kse sit on a chair or was the employee sitting on one like on standby?
A. Employees are sitting on chairs
I couldn't see the Heouns.
'maybe they're in the 2nd location (=branch), not here?'
side note it's so funny to me that even KSE calls them Heouns ('허운씨들')
Q. what this is meant to say? i don't know how to translate this and im confused by the purpose of the diary. is it a guide for civilians?
A. Literally it's "visit for citizen guidance".
To paraphrase a little, "purpose of visit: for citizen escape" -> haegeum is writing down the purpose of the visit on the top of the note.
As for the note itself, she was just writing down her thoughts but in the format of a letter towards KSE
Q. Why is the Bronze mention ominous?
Bronze is
After that, only traces remained, as if someone had written it down and then haphazardly erased it.
"……."
This… rather felt like it was written like some ominous foreshadowing, but Lee Gyeol had clearly said that both of them were safe.
'She might have erased it because she couldn’t organize her thoughts.'
Q. I noticed that in this chapter Haegeum calls Choi 'Choi-ssi' and Bronze 'Cheongdong-ie'. I saw that some people remarked how she showed favouritism towards Bronze while for Choi she usually means to say 'that Choi fellow' or along those lines. I thought the '-ssi' suffix was meant to be a sign of respect so just wondering how it works in this context.
ok here's what it says in kr dictionary.
"그 사람을 높이거나 대접하여 부르거나 이르는 말. 공식적ㆍ사무적인 자리나 다수의 독자를 대상으로 하는 글에서가 아닌 한 윗사람에게는 쓰기 어려운 말로, 대체로 동료나 아랫사람에게 쓴다."
"A term used to address or refer to someone with respect or deference. It is difficult to use when addressing a superior unless in a formal or business setting or in writing intended for a large audience - it is generally used when addressing colleagues or subordinates."
plus, ok I couldn't find a better source for this so sorry for this but here's what namuwiki says :
"In reality (not in writing or broadcasts), it is usually polite to address someone of equal standing or a subordinate by adding both their first and last name, such as XXX-ssi (e.g., Hong Gildong-ssi).[12] If you only add the first name, such as XX-ssi (e.g., Gildong-ssi), that is a polite expression only toward a subordinate, and calling someone by only their last name, such as X-ssi (e.g., Hong-ssi), is an impolite expression."
so yeah in this case -ssi is not polite.
NO NOT EVEN THE ITEMS?! the paper boat... No.............
the employees just sitting there...
KSE manner of speech : towards manager : no honorifics. towards people who he's unsure of still being his employees : honorifics. Towards his employees: no honorifics
omg haegeum wrote a letter towards KSE... Augh...
ok it def has been 3 years. Hmm
the egg shell stolen... When it was being kept in daecheongbong, presumably under protection of the tiger general...
People on twt saying it's ominous that
something happened to bronze
resort manager who was former lodge keeper is gonna be killing people and serving them as food
-> is bronze's past as the serial killer of horizon mountain lodge gonna be relevant...
Honestly if there's a nod to the popular fanon 'serial killer contamination Bronze' or if it even becomes canon I'd be super excited lmao.
I hope he's the next major chara to come on screen
I'm not saying I hope he's got full on fandom mountain lodge contamination and is working under the lodgekeeper killing people for the special dinner but I'm not not saying it either
this twit posits : "So, when Agent Haegeum opened the room door, waved the paper while looking at Kim Soleum - was it that she was recording the events, saw that Kim Soleum had arrived, and then signaled, "Something is wrong with the resort right now, so check the paper." ?
Was that how she sent the signal?
Maybe she immediately accepted that Kim Soleum is here, because the eggshell had already been stolen.
And to think I just thought she was super shocked and slammed the door shut, thinking, "Why is he here????""
OK I know this isn't the most important thing rn but I got so pissed at the resort manager not giving back KSE's items and personal belongings in the tattoo. Like what use do you even have for that paper boat! To you it's just a wrinkled piece of paper but to one person it means the entire world!
