it’s really sad that we have to actually sit here and explain to people why taylor absolutely deserves to be on the time cover. it’s absolutely pathetic that people are really ugly enough to minimalize and trivialize taylor swift’s stance against sexual assault. it’s transparent as fuck when people say they stand for all women but refuse to acknowledge the fact that taylor swift took a public and legal stance against sexual assault and that there was a 35% increase in reportings to RAINN’s sexual assault hotline the week following her trial. to everybody and anybody who is sitting here either ignoring taylor’s role in the #metoo movement, or saying that she didn’t have a role, i don’t ever want to see you call yourself a feminist again, or claim that you stand for justice and women’s rights, when apparently you are too petty to even acknowledge the fact that taylor swift took a very strong stance against sexual assault and that your continued dialogue of saying she “plays the victim” is the same exact type of divisiveness that sexual assaulters use against their victims. she isn’t playing the victim, she was a victim, and she took her anger and used it to help women all around the world. if you support women then you better fucking include taylor swift in that narrative or you don’t have a narrative to begin with. 

literally what did she do for the movement after? TS only helps herself, what else has she done??? there are so many other women who actually do more to help victims of assault and harassment, kesha, gabrielle union, literally any body else deserves it more than her.

Every time you ignorant fuckwipes say that any one woman’s sexual assault matters less than another, you tell perpetrators that it’s okay to assault some women as long as they don’t assault others.
