I found myself in an endless hole.

The light was gone everthing cold.

"Lumos" The light lit up. Fills the cave.

Searching what my heart craves.

An old familer face.

Eyes who Sees my mistake.

But I was blind.

I want young Dumbledore to be a bored morally grey asshole who is trying to be one of the good guys, but still says things like: 

“I believe that there’s a new Dark Lord rising in Europe, and he’s outsmarting the smartest of us, and for that he deserves to kill whoever the hell he wants.”

and: 

“I have to find him, he wants me to find him!” 

And I want Grindelwald to be a charming and funny and out-and-proud psychopath who leaves “sorry baby” notes at the scenes of his crimes. 

And I want Dumbledore to realise as he is investigating the recent european killings that it is actually his ex-boyfriend doing this, at which point the cat and mouse chase across the world is on. They both trample all over innocent people’s lives, absolutely uncaring of the collateral damage in favour of their own little game. 

And maybe there are epic duels, but the “duel” that ends Grindelwald’s reign happens in Grindelwald’s own bed, where Dumbledore stabs him during sex. 

Or maybe it would become a better place after all. 

“I think [Dumbledore] likes that Newt finds beauty in beasts because I think occasionally Dumbledore feels like a beast.” - Jude Law

It was this quote that first got me thinking about the potential dynamic between these two and ever since then I have become hooked on this crack ship.

Dumbledore clearly trusts Newt and he even says he admires him!

“Do you know why I admire you, Newt? You don’t seek power.”

I just love this line!

It really highlights both of their contrasting personalities. Dumbledore is a man who wants to do good, but he feels tortured and conflicted because he doesn’t trust himself completely because of his own desire for power. He fell in love with a wizard who would go on to do so much wrong in the world, and at a time in his life, he agreed with and encouraged some of those ideas.

Newt on the other hand isn’t tortured by his own desire to do good. He just does the right thing. He is someone that looks for the beauty and goodness in all, and that’s a perspective that could really help Dumbledore heal and move on.
