Our leads need to be adults in every sense: 35–50 years old, written to actually read that age. Not "technically 35 but looks 24." I want the lived-in weight of that age range on the page.
Multi-paragraph / literate replies only. Looking for someone who treats dialogue as seriously as prose. Someone who can write a conversation that actually sounds like two people talking. Good dialogue makes a scene for me just as much as description does.
Give me flawed, layered, complex multi-faceted men: vices they can't shake, mental blocks they refuse to examine, moral inconsistencies they'll defend to the death. Guys who can be selfish, overbearing, possessive in ways that aren't clean or easily excusable. Characters messy enough to feel human, the kind who make questionable choices for understandable reasons.
Open to almost any plot and setting as long as romance is a real, central thread and not window dressing. Be it enemies to lovers, friends to lovers ex-lovers to lovers or starting out lovers. My personal favorite themes revolve around action and thrillers with a strong slice-of-life current running underneath it, danger and domesticity sitting right next to each other.
Erotic scenes, themes and discussion of our characters is anticipated and gladly welcomed, but should by no means be the absolute central focus of everything we write. In my opinion, smut is only as good as the characters its being written for. I'm not looking for just porn with a story. I can also be a bit vanilla when it comes to the physicality of erotica. By that I mean I'm not comfortable writing anything more extreme than dub-con, not a fan of taboo kinks or fetishes. i.e toys or any kind of object play, blood/cutting, etc, I'm into the psychological aspects of smut. Religious guilt, self-denial, commitment betrayals, internalized homophobia from all the ignorance that was beaten into their brains as kids, and the toll it takes on their mental state of being. Identity crises, shame, and fears of being outed, sorta thing.
Original characters expected, but I do write some canons, if you'd like me to. (Joel Miller, Arthur Morgan, Rick Grimes, Negan Smith, John Wick, Logan Howeltt, Steve Rogers and other characters in that ballpark, just ask!)
Faceclaims matter more to me than it might to most people, so let's actually talk it through together rather than picking in a vacuum. Real people only: actors, models, whoever catches your eye. Zero drawn, painted, AI-generated, or animated faces. I also want a faceclaim with real appeal, someone whose presence you're genuinely drawn to, since we'll be building boards around this man's face for the long haul.
