On October 4th 2024, I was hospitalized for a month. Starting October 20th I began to rapidly lose weight. I lost 50 pounds in less than 2 weeks and wound up with an NG feeding tube. I left the hospital on November 4th and went home with no feeding tube. I have forced myself to eat, but even then, I have still continued to lose weight. I went from 250 to 195.
My partner and my mom surprised me by with a nice 4 day visit from Tennessee after 7 years of not being able to see my mom. I wish we had more pictures but I've been so ill and weak I haven't been able to take many. She left Saturday morning. :(
Monday afternoon (11/18/2024) I had surgery with an amazing general surgeon to have a G-tube and a J-Tube placed. I was hospitalized for 1 night and day (so much for no more hospitals😅🤣) - they tried to keep me another day and I said HELL. NO. So instead, home health will be coming here today to teach me how to use my feeding tubes and the pump.
I don't know when exactly my last day on Earth will be. No one knows when they will die... I just know I'm on borrowed time. But I am thankful for every day that I get and while I'm here, I'll continue fighting and doing what's best for me to comfort me while I am here. This surgery has been a nightmare to recover from but when I'm healed I'll be able to use my G-Tube to get rid of stomach acid and bile that is causing me issues and vomiting and my J-tube will get my feedings and medications. This will give my body a chance to actually absorb the nutrients and oral medications better since it is going straight into my colon instead of my paralyzed stomach. If it doesn't work and I continue to lose weight then I guess we will go back to the drawing board.
I'm hanging in there the best I can and enjoying the time I have with my loved ones. I don't have a lot of energy so it's hard for me to be on social media. I'm so sorry. Thank you all for everything. 🙏🏼🥹🥰🤟🏼💜
