Distracted with her own preoccupations, Margot hadnât noticed the change fall out of her pocket. Anyone else wouldâve kept the money for themselves. After all, most humans were selfish and opportunistic; it was basic human nature and instinct to look after oneself and oneâs interests first. Therefore, she was certainly caught off guard when the other had sought her out to return the bill. â Uh, yeah. Thanks but you should keep it. â Margot wasnât in any position to give money away, given her familyâs complicated financial situation. Yet, she wanted to reward the stranger for her kind deed.
Chloe looked at the bill with furrowed brows. â You sure? I mean itâs not why I picked it up.. I wanted to give it back. â She offered, a small smile on her lips. Shrugging she looked up at the other. â We could always make a deal and buy something for the both of us with it? Like ice cream? Or coffee? â There was nowhere she needed to be right now and truth be told she was feeling kind of lonely. Some company would be appreciated, not that she would ever admit that aloud.

â yeah.. itâs just easier that way for me. i tend to spend more money when i have cash on me. â she laughed softly. Â the girl tried not to spend too much money on stuff she didnât need. so, keeping her cash at home was her way of controlling it. â any day you get five dollars richer is a good day if you ask me. â sofia smiled at the younger girl.
â Really? I have the exact opposite! Because Iâll just take a certain amount of money with me to the store, that way when itâs gone I wonât have anything else to buy something with. âCept my phone and my card, but thatâs like a self-rule that I canât use those, you know, not when Iâve got cash. â She explained. Why she was explaining this, she forgot, but it didnât matter it was already out. Smiling, she nodded. â Yeah, thatâs what I thought. I might get ice cream with it. â
AXEL WASNâT THE MOST CAUTIOUS PERSON, NOR COULD HE exactly be identified as organized, but it was unlike axel to even carry cash on him. it took a second to realize that the voice was referring to him, turning to the other. â oh, hey, uhhâ â he took a second to glance down at the bill, shaking his head. â no, sadly.  but hey, looks like its your lucky day, you found five dollars!  That could buy like four large slurpees from seven-eleven, or like 4 and a half big gulps. â
â Yay me! â Chloe cheered halfheartedly. Her eyebrows raising in surprise as he continued his sentence. â Thatâs exactly what I was thinking. Well apart from the gulps then. You wanna come? Itâs free.. my treat. â Waving the bill in the air as if he just couldnât refuse such an offer.Â
âYouâre very welcome,â Valeria said with a solemn smile. Small bills like that definitely werenât going towards anything majorly impactful, like to a charity or a shelter or used to save for something bigger, but sheâd kick herself if she was greedy over something as ridiculous as five dollars. People like that were the reason their children came to her with their grievances and struggles. She paused, looking down at the jacket she wore, noticing her hand that had been tucked inside of it. After feeling around, sheâd realized the emptiness of it. âThe price we pay for keeping our hands warm,â she jested with a shrug of her shoulders, âHey, as long as you donât use it for drugs or underage drinking, do whatever you want with it.â
Chloe smiled as the woman examined her pockets. â You sure you donât want it to buy gloves or something? â She offered, feeling bad for already making plans to spend something she was just kindly given. Making a profit off of someone's misery, that was something she didnât want to do. Letting out a small chuckle at the comment of the woman. â I wonât. Promise. I thought maybe some coffee or some candy. â The girl admitted.
turning to look at the offer as she felt the other speak, she wondered what the other was going to say. she really hoped she hadnât done anything to cause the other upset. âoh..oh..âjosie commented, head tilting as she looked at the five dollar bill. âthanks⌠you can keep it though. buy yourself a coffee or something for being a good samaritan.â
â Thank you! I will! â Chloe smiled and looked down at the bill as she flattened it a bit. â Uhm. â She started, wondering if she was really going to do this, but what the hell. â If youâre not too busy though.. Iâd feel bad if I spend your money just on myself.. so.. do you want to like.. I donât know.. maybe come? To get coffee, I mean. Itâs not a big deal I just.. if youâre not busy, you know. â

troyâs on a mission â he has things to do before his class this afternoon , people to see and mentally ticking off the things heâs done on his list in his head as heâs walking down the street. that is so rudely interrupted at the tap of the shoulder , and he almost gets whiplash from turning to face the young woman so fast. â five dollars ? â his tone is as spiteful as intended. the bill acting as a piece of rubbish that carries an awful stench to warrant his nose scrunch. â you went out of your way to flag me down for a five dollar bill ? honey. do i look like i carry change on me ? â
Chloe almost took a step back from the sheer look the boy was wearing. Almost. Instead she straightened her shoulders a little more. â Right.. No you donât actually. Sir. You look like you carry all your precious money right up your fucking ass. And itâs so tight that nothing would ever slip through. â She spat, slipping the bill in her pocket. â A simple âno, but thank youâ, would have sufficed. Asshole. â
bending down for five dollars is not something isabella does . but she supposes this girl before her doesnât hold the same DIGNITY . she canât help but look at the note in question, as if it offends her, before shrugging . â keep it . being a good , selfless person ought to get you SOMETHING in life , right ? â what could five dollars even buy ? a piece of gum ? isabella has no idea. Â â but . . thanks . thatâs like. nice of you. for no reason . â how baffling .
Seeing the look of disgust on the girls face, Chloe knew sheâd made the right choice. â Thatâs what I thought. Thanks though. â The girl smiled sweetly and tried to keep herself from raising her middle finger in front of the others face. Stuck up bitch. It might as well be written on her forehead. â Well you know I just thought.. like .. if I dropped like my card or something or like fifty dollars and like I didnât notice I would like for someone to pick it up and give it to me, you know. And like if it was you, then maybe youâd remember me being nice when it was just five bucks, right? â
sofia was on her way home from the store when she felt a tap on the shoulder. â i never keep cash on me so no itâs not. â she said with a smile on her face. â youâre are really sweet to check, ya know. Most people would have seized the opportunity to get an extra five bucks. â
â Ah.. of course not. â
Why would you if you can pay by card, right? Yet Chloe still liked the feeling of money in her hand. She liked the feeling it gave her, like it was really hers. Like she had something of worth between her fingers. And she was more aware when she spend it. With a swift movement she put the bill in her pocket and smiled.
â Yeah, well- Iâm not most people. â The girl shrugged.
â What comes around, goes around, right? It got me five bucks without feeling like an asshole, so Iâve got that going. â
Valeria stopped in her tracks, slowly, and always gracefully turning around as her black hair traveled around with her, staying on her back like a waterfall. Her eyes lit up with delight at the generosity of the young girl, though she held up her hand gently against her, âThank you, mjia,â she said with a gentle smile, âFive dollars is a small favor. You keep it for your generosity.â
Looking up at the woman she suddenly grew very self conscious about her own black hair.
                                          â Sweet. â
The girl replied. Folding the bill swiftly with her fingers and pocketing it. People here had little to no appreciation of the little things. Not her though. She didnât take them for granted and one day it would make her as rich as the Sinclairs.
                               â Thanks. â
Chloe offered, already imaging what she was going to buy with it. More licorice, or nail polish, maybe sheâd safe it for that record she saw at Black Catâs the other day.
â You should probably be careful though.. I donât know how you dropped it.. maybe your purse is open, or something? â
â Hey! â The girl called out, kneeling down to grab a five dollar bill off of the ground. Quickening her pace to catch up to the person whoâd been walking in front of her. â Hey â She tapped them on the shoulder as she softened her voice a bit. â Uhm.. is this yours? It was.. on the ground. â

jj had never been particularly handy in the home, but he could paint. he might not have been able to fix a leaky pipe or replace a broken doorknob, but this he could do. and, apparently, living in a place you werenât really allowed to furnish any way you wanted inspired you to want to redesign nearly every room in your new house when you moved out, âwhich shade of green do you like better?â he asked the person beside him, holding up a darker green and a lighter green paint swatch.Â
Sheâd been looking for aesthetic shots. Phone in hand she passed the aisles slowly, touching nearly every product on the shelves, just because she could. Occasionally she snapped a picture, holding something in her hand with her freshly painted nails. The paint aisle was always useful for aesthetic pictures. Only looking up from her phone when she heard a voice next to her. â Hm? â The girl hummed, trying to comprehend what the man had said as sheâd been lost in her own little world. Seeing the paint swatches in his hand she tilted her head to the side and squeezed her eyes at it. â Depends on what youâre trying to say. â She mused.

soo-min didnât check the enmity. far too certain in her ability to stay above their radar, unaffected, unmoved. yet today she had been proven wrong, so terribly wrong. a forwarded message from her sibling, simply read: âis this true?â. within minutes the space atmosphere soo-min falls cold, it creeps up her forearms with quick prickles, squeezing â constricting â to the point min canât find the aptness to breathe. nails dig mindlessly into her sternum, gazed still fixated on the screen. âno.â a low, breathy mutter, follows a cold drop from deep within the womans chest, pooling within her tummy. soo-min feels she about to be sick, fumbling backwards for the brick wall behind her. quivering towards a sitting position on the ground. what a pathetic sight to behold, like a new born horse, in their feeble attempts to walk on new legs. this had to be dream. a dreadful dream that sheâd wake up from any moment now. there was no way any else but joshua knew about the plans, which obviously never came to fruition. a week before theyâd planned to leave for germany, the lawrence brother was dead.Â
If there was one thing Chloe was good at, it was keeping updated on her social media. Phone, covered in a red phone case, tightly grasped in her hand, she made her way towards the Black Cat. Not that she needed anything from the shop, but she just loved hanging out there, browsing through the racks. Besides she didnât want to get started on her homework yet and this was the perfect excuse to postpone it a little. Walking and reading had become almost second nature to the girl and her eyes flew over her phone screen as she moved. â Nice. Drama. â She whispered underneath her breath as she read the new gossip on the blog. A slight smirk curling up her lips as she imagined the different family members all freaking out about the gossip. It was sad of course, about that guy, but he was dead, so it wouldnât bother him anyway.
Within seconds Chloeâs nonchalant demeanor changed to guilt as she saw a familiar woman leaning against the wall. â Shit. â The girl hurried over and knelt before the other. Phone still clutched in her hand she brushed some of her own hair behind her ear, unsure of what exactly to do. â Uhm, hey, itâs okay.. just breathe okay, just breathe..â
⥠ MUSE 52, JENNA ORTEGA, CISFEMALE â have you seen CHLOE MONTGOMERY around hillston? the 17 year old is said to be a HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT. the neighbours would say that theyâre BOLD and THRILL SEEKING, but theyâre actually CURIOUS and INDEPENDENT. SHE often reminds people of black coffee, licorice candy and a stormy green sea watch out, though. you wouldnât believe that SHE OWNS A WELL READ BLOG, BUT NO ONE KNOWS ITS HERS. ( Elina, GMT +2, 25, She/her)
PERSONALITY:
Name: Chloe Rodriquez
Alias: Chloe Montgomery
Age: 17 (May 20, 2002)
Characteristics: Long black hair, dimples in her cheeks, burn mark on her right ankle, tattoo of an eagle on her left shoulder blade.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Hogwarts house: Gryffindor
Zodiac sign: Taurus
HEADCANONS: (for now, might change when MUSE 50 is picked up)
Chloe loves her red licorice and eats it whenever she can get her hands on it. She keeps a stash of it in her room that she never lets run out.
From the age of twelve Chloe has been drinking coffee, much to the dismay of her sister. Since the age of fifteen sheâs been hooked on her morning coffee and gets really cranky without it.
She has a burn mark on her right ankle from a hot tea accident when she was five.
The eagle tattoo on her left shoulder blade was a rebellious act last year (age: 16). Out of spite towards her sister saying no to letting her get a nose piercing. She faked an ID and went to a tattoo parlor. Not wanting to directly disobey her sister and getting a piercing, but wanting to show her she wasnât the boss of her, she set the tattoo. On hindsight Chloe still doesnât know why she didnât just got her nose pierced, but sheâs happy with the tattoo.
She choose an eagle, because it reminds her of the freedom she now has living with her sister. And because she likes being up in high places, looking down at all the people below.
The fake ID was taken from her and her sister gave her the silent treatment for days. Chloe hated it and decided that she wouldnât disobey or fight with her sister again, because sheâs all the family she has.
Chloe started her own blog under another name to let out some of her creativity without feeling self conscious about it. She hadnât meant to keep it up this long and certainly didnât foresee itâs popularity.
She has a secret backpack in her closet filled with clothes and a small stash of food, itâs her get-away-pack. Just in case her parents find them for some reason and they need to leave in a hurry.
Another thing she has always prepared just in case is a new name and identity. Already building a live for her alter ego on social media, including the blog. In case things go wrong for whatever reason, she figures she can just start a new life somewhere else, sheâs done it before, why not again?
Chloe was 10 years old when they left her parents, she remembers bits and pieces of her previous life. Mostly she remembers their life on the road before settling in Hillston. Which wasnât always easy. Itâs made her bond with her sister stronger nevertheless.
Sometimes in her dreams she visits her past. They arenât always nice dreams and it has her turning on her nightlight once in a while. Itâs something she feels stupid about, so she will never admit being afraid in the dark.
FAMILY: Montgomery,
one of the newer families in town, the montgomeryâs are a mystery to everyone. no matter how much people google them or ask around, no one has been able to find out anything and thatâs the way they want to keep it. MUSE 50 and MUSE 51 have been dating for a while now and the only thing that people really know about them is that theyâre a spitfire of a couple. they also seem to be the custodians of MUSE 50âs little sister, and the montgomeryâs are keeping up with the hillston lifestyle rather easily. the one thing the sisters are tight lipped on is the rest of their family. their parents could hardly be considered good people, and thatâs what pushed MUSE 50 to take MUSE 52 and run away from their home, changing their name so that they could never be found by them again. they want a new life, and a fresh start thatâs better for all of them that doesnât include their past following them. in a town full of secrets, they can only hope that their own can remain hidden.
