having never really questioned her sexuality before, evie felt like the best person to talk to about it was someone who had some experience in knowing who they were and what they liked. she was pretty lucky that person in her life could be her best friend and while she felt a little nervous about instigating such a conversation, she didn’t let it stop her. they’d talked about all sorts of things before, why would this be any different? “hey... dan? can i ask you something?” she licked over her lips, eyes dropping down to the coffee cup she held between her hands. the question was already poised and ready to go, she barely let the other woman answer. “how did you know you weren’t like... straight?”

     the fact that she was so out of breath was definitely a buzzkill, but running up and down 5 flights of stairs so that the delivery guy didn’t straight up dip with their takeout was definitely something she was willing to have an asthma attack for. when noelle finally came back through the heavy metal door leading onto the rooftop of her apartment building, she rose both of her hands in the air, food bag in one fist, and a bag with their bottled drinks in the other as she breathlessly did a few circles around her current position. with a heavy sigh, she moved back to where the other was sitting on the blanket on the ground, the sun only just beginning to set over the ledge surrounding the perimeter of the roof. “that was fucking terrible,” she noted as she plopped down onto the ground beside them and set down the bags. “too bad your little boyfriend wasn’t here, he could’ve made himself useful and gotten our food.” she was kidding. mostly. right?

thunderstorms most definitely happened to be the one thing that mackenzie happened to be afraid of ( minus spiders. ) her track practice happened to run a little bit later than usual considering that they had to have a small team meeting just to go over the things each of them needed to work on the rest of the week. the curly haired female however had overheard a couple of her teammates talking about how there was going to be a storm coming within the next couple of minutes which resulted in her immediately packing up her own things so she could get home in time and hopefully be able to take a quick shower. she figured that it wasn’t going to last long or be that bad so she’d have enough time to at least get some of her classwork finished as well as possibly have some spare time to hang out with her favorite person of course. although once she had rushed into their shared apartment, got herself a snack, showered, and attempted to finish typing up an essay it was basically time to bed which meant she hadn’t really had time to hang out with the other but she’d make up for it the next day. but, of course the storm had other plans which meant sleep was something mackenzie wasn’t going to get at all. the female currently had been hiding under her blanket trying her best to shield herself from seeing the bright flashes and ignore the rumbles of thunder but — the minute her room shook slightly she was out of bed and in the other room in a split second. “i was just wondering if i could you know .. spend the night in here with you.”
