I know the popular opinion regarding Alex Anthopolous’s departure is to be enraged by the fact the Jays "let him go", but this decision was AA’s and I don’t see how the Bluejays could have done much more.
According to Ken Rosenthal, they offered him a 5 year deal with an opt-out after a year if he felt he wasn't able to continue to do his job under Shapiro. They basically said they want him back, offered a great deal by most accounts WITH a chance to walk away should it not "be the right fit", and Alex still walked. The wheels were in motion long ago to restructure the team with Paul Beeston’s retirement, and people are only really fired up because he became a popular face of the playoff success.
Perhaps (and most likely) he was getting a weird vibe through the season (for 1/2 of it, he was "old" AA again with an underachieving team) and maybe he felt with Shapiro looming, he wasn't going to be happy. However, Beeston was retiring and he has said he ran everything past him, so its not like he wasn't used to having someone approving his moves from above.
He knows he is loved by the fans and media here, he can build on something for next year, he said everything has been amazing, and the Jays gave him a chance to keep doing it for 5 years... yet he walked. It wasn't "the right fit".
Maybe he expected to be named President as well? That's a lofty expectation considering where they were in the summer when the Jays were making these decisions.
His record as a GM before the Tulo trade was 446-465. He had already traded away lots of good young talent in previous deals, then traded most of what was left in a "I need to win now or I'm done" Hail Mary trade period this season. Staying the course would only have solidified his low chances of coming back - based on his career as a GM to that point!
I would have understood, and even been happy, had he decided to come back to try again, as I am still buzzing from playoffs like most are - but let's not act like he was a baseball genius who was treated like garbage. He gutted the minor league pitching after 5 years of going nowhere, and they still put a great deal on the table for him to come back. But he had made up his mind.
They did all they could and should have done IMO, based on his record as a GM the last 5 years. He seems like a great guy and I was happy to see him succeed and bring the playoffs back to Toronto. But most GM’s could improve their team significantly if given the green light to gut the minor league prospect pool and make multiple trades. It’s like giving someone $100,000 to go buy a car and when they return with a $100,000 car, everyone says “wow I can’t believe you were able to buy a $100,000 car...amazing!”
I like the guy, I generally like that he take risks, and the Donaldson deal looks outstanding in particular... but he is not irreplaceable and his record has more blemishes than victories.
The Eric Garner saga, on the surface, is chilling and disturbing. Everyone has seen the video - it's basically a snuff film that, for some reason, is rarely being shown by media with a warning that it may be disturbing. Boobs will get blurred, but every school child can watching this guy die over and over. But that is another issue I suppose.
As upsetting as the video is - and the followup video from another angle showing him lying there dying as cops mill about and look completely confused as to why the guy isn't answering their questions - what I have seen in the aftermath is like 3 more punches to the "hopeful for change" stomach.
The right leaning media and politicians - specifically Fox News and most of their talking heads (although to be fair, some actually agree this shouldn't have happened) have been falling over themselves to figure out how to defend this. You read the @ comments on twitter posts, or just twitter posts with the #ericgarner hashtag, and it is devastating that so many people out there can be so racist, heartless and politically driven that they don't see this result for what it is. WHY? Why can people not imagine themselves, or a loved one, in that position and recognize that it should NEVER have ended that way?
There is no way any of these people applauding the NYPD here would be doing it if that was their brother or father being killed on the street as they say over and over "I can't breathe!". NONE of them.
"They are racist" is the obvious answer, but it's more than that. The Eric Garner case is beyond race to me and many others. It is simply a human race issue, where the police can overreact with deadly force, and not be held responsible. The monsters that blame his weight, or cigarette taxes, on this death (and that includes a guy expected to RUN FOR PRESIDENT in Rand Paul) are simply not willing to take a black man's - or liberal - side of this.
It's not just the right leaning/racist media outlets - it's thousands of people with a twitter account or the ability to write in the comments section of an online article. One twitter poster said to me if Garner was in good shape he wouldn't have choked to death. I'm pretty sure you can wrap your hands around any athlete's neck and strangle the life out of them. The idea that someone who jogs daily couldn't be choked from behind by a Police officer is just asinine, and is yet another example of people who refuse to look at what happened as they have to side with their racist/political views.
The realization that a media outlet like Fox News are simply the ugly head of a buried pyramid of hateful, racist people is overwhelming when you try and be optimistic that things will change. It's like when in a scary movie or TV show - lets say "The Walking Dead" - the good guys give everything they have to fight off 20 zombies, catch their breath, then stumble to their feet and see on the horizon thousands more coming their way.
It really puts the struggle of most innocent, harmless minorities in perspective. Cases like this draw out all the terrible people and it becomes really clear just how MASSIVE a challenge minorities have on a daily basis to be treated equally and not harassed. The sheer volume of people who are implanted in our streets, media and businesses who won't give a minority a CHANCE to improve their life (and then complain when they are poor) is mind boggling.
Human beings who care are the ones outraged, and the ones out there protesting right now. People who care don't ever want to see ANYONE lose a family member like this, and are trying to change things so it doesn't happen again.
The video and the death of Eric Garner was crushing and embarrassing to see - and should have been to all Americans and especially honest Police officers who would never have handled that situation that way. However its the wave of zombies that come out of the woods when this stuff happens which is the most discouraging aspect in my opinion as the good people on this planet try and move forward with the hope that one day there will be more respect and equality in this world.
I heard Tamir Rice's story earlier this week. Amidst all the rage and anger of Michael Brown's case indictment result, here comes a story of a black child being shot by police for having a toy gun.
When I first heard the story, it was told like this: There was a 911 call indicating someone had a gun that could likely be fake, who was intimidating people and waving it around. From there, the story said the police who showed up asked him 3 times to raise his hands. Instead, he aimed the gun at the police officers, and they responded by shooting.
As sad as THIS story is, I didn't blame the police for treating it as if it was a real gun. It was fake, but looked 100% real. You have to be safe in those situations. It was pointed at them after he ignored their commands. It wasn't a race thing really, as they were responding to a 911 call. I don't care if the kid was black or white, the situation was potentially dangerous.
But then I saw the video.
Wow.
Shocked.
Rice is sitting by himself, before walking towards the camera. Suddenly, the police car slides into the scene, and within 2 seconds while Rice looks to be just absorbing the situation, the police jump out and shoot him in the stomach. The video shows he may have fiddled with the gun in his pants for a second, but certainly didn't take it out and aim it at the officers. The officers said they yelled at him 3 times to show his hands - in 2 seconds, as the car was driving up to the kid. He probably didn't even realize what was being said (if it was even truthful that it was what they said). Even if he heard that exact phrase 3 times over the car engine coming towards him, he is 12 years old. He likely has no idea he is in trouble or how dangerous a situation he is in at the second.
I cannot imagine the police train officers to approach a dangerous subject by driving up and yelling at them. It would seem like a stop at the curb, with instructions to the kid to drop the gun/lay down etc would have made way more sense. Rice was likely surprised and confused by the whole scene in that second. He was 12. You usually have to tell 12 year olds the same thing 5 times before they understand or do it.
If my child was at the park with a fake gun, and the police showed up and did that to him - I would be beside myself with anger. I doubt you would find one parent who would feel your child deserved to die for those actions, that quickly. Is that really the most lawful way to approach a situation like that?
However, as sad as this result is, what is even sadder is the response by the public, in internet comments and newspaper articles. People justifying that police response - UNREAL. I would bet my paltry bank account that if that was their nephew, or child - or just "John Smith" who plays on your white son's baseball team - you would be rattled with grief and anger. But some people feel they always need to take the side opposite the black victim, regardless of whether they truly were guilty of something or not. It seems these days conservatives/republicans in particular feel it is their duty to become the lawyer for the police officers who shot the victim of the week.
Can we not try and be decent human beings here and look past race for a moment, and instead at the police reaction? Can we not put racist or political views aside for once and try and be neutral to what we just saw? Can we not, individually, decide what is right and wrong instead of just siding with your normal side and debating on its behalf? And this goes for blacks as well who blindly get behind a victim/killer because it is their race, and perhaps not what they feel.
Tamir Rice stood no chance in that encounter. He was 12, and a police car just drove across the grass and shot him with 2 seconds.
No chance.
If that is how the police are going to do things, I fear for my son's life out there. It has become a nation of fear, and a shoot first mentality. How about not firing until fired upon? This would resolve a lot of these accidental shooting deaths.
This of course comes on the heels of the Michael Brown incident.
However, my thoughts on the Brown incident - and I will keep them brief as that case has been blogged to death - were somewhat different. When I first heard the witnesses talking about what happened in August, I basically sided with Brown. It seemed excessive that he could be shot dead while he stood there and surrendered. Everything I heard led me to think no cop should have shot him 6 times as he had his hands up.
But things changed. I have not really sided with anyone now. We may never know. I changed my "guilty" plea for Darren Wilson to a "well, now, hold on here..." plea once witnesses started supporting the claim that Brown charged the officer. Witnesses who would have no motivation to support his claim. If that was the case, it could change everything. Suddenly the story looked like it could be a law-defying 6'5, 290 lbs guy who not only robbed a store, ignored Wilson's request to get off the street, allegedly assaulted the officer even grabbing for his gun, and then rather than hit the ground and surrender, turned towards Wilson and charged him - twice - while he was staring down the barrel of the gun.
Still a tragic end, and perhaps other tactics could have been used. But if that scenario has some truth, the use of deadly force seems like it could have been reasonable.
This case is very different, and people should be more outraged at this. We have the video. The video shows us that Rice had virtually no chance because of how the police reacted to the scene.
I am not sure where we are as a society, or how we can fix it. There is deep seeded racism out there that won't change. The heartless comments on the internet back that up. There is responsibility too, for parents and role models, to not glorify violence and attitude. This has led to many kids escalating a situation that shouldn't even be a situation, because they feel they need to prove they don't give a shit.
It's the chicken or the egg. Black culture doesn't trust the cops because stuff like this happens too often. But the police are biased against the race because of the trouble/hate they get back. The human race - or specifically North America - needs to figure this out because this is no way to live anymore.

I was watching Real Time with Bill Mahar the other night, and they brought up this ad above done by Cadillac, and it has gotten a mixed reaction.
My thoughts on it? Ugh.
Look, the general message is basically clear - hard work equals success. A great message, unless of course you think about all those people working extremely hard and still living a lower class life. But I digress. It was an attempt at motivating.
The ad has a few points that ruin it however.
The biggest problem is right off the bat - mocking or looking down your nose at the “other countries” that take all of August off, and take time to go to a cafe after work (WTF?).
Immediately, it starts as a “Americans don’t do this because we are the best” message, complete with listing a bunch of historical accomplishments as if nobody else does anything on this planet. The second problem is the most obvious one - the idea of materialistic things being the ultimate goal.
Really? Those extra 2 weeks that other countries have off is the difference between owning a nice house and car, and not owning them?
It is insane to think that there aren’t tons of people in this world (or even USA) with August off and who visit friends at cafes, who also live in a nice house and have a nice car. Or more importantly, are VERY HAPPY people!
When is the last time anyone saw a facebook post by a friend that said “Well, vacation time I guess… I’ll try to enjoy the beach and time with friends as best I can, but boy will I miss working”. No, most people seem to LOVE vacation or time away from work. Even people making a good living, if you can believe that!
America (or Cadillac anyway) seem to want to convince themselves that Americans love work and nobody is as driven as they are. Sure, some people are - and some are in every country. But the majority of people don’t WANT to work if vacation or time with family/friends is the other option.
Quality of life is what is being brought up in this debate. What makes someone happy? What is important to people? The USA are a country with overworked, underpaid people where there is a big gap between the poor and rich. When discussing the crime rates, gun violence, poor culture, and poor mental health, pretty much every expert and politician speak about the importance of family and parenting. Examples include having a great relationship with your kids and spending time with them, forgetting about the mad rush of daily life, and enjoy what you have before its gone. Slow the fuck down, basically, and recognize what is truly important in life.
This ad seems to want to focus on how important it is to work, work, work. Sure, we can’t assume this character ignores his family just because he is successful (he does, after all, high five his kid lounging on the couch)… but the message is “live your life driven by hard work”. To get materialistic success. Not everyone defines happiness this way. I dare say that the majority of people are happier when they aren’t working tirelessly… when they get to see their kids sporting events or concerts, or take their vacation time to see the world, or just camp by a lake, or relax on their porch.
But going back to the first point about mocking the countries that put more emphasis on, well, mental health and rest - I think the ad would have been OK if it just stuck to the “work hard, play hard” type message it sort of tried to achieve. But once you start it with a guy who comes off smug and arrogant, dismissing the things other countries find important in life, and bragging about the USA… the message gets lost thanks to the American chest pounding.
And I guarantee that when he mentions taking August off, the majority of Americans - rich and poor included - thought to themselves “Wait, people have the whole month off!? Can I live there!?”
So much was made during the Romney campaign about "takers" and republicans and media like Fox News continue to hitch their horse to that wagon. However in my opinion, this is doing nothing for the country other than making those in need feel like they are garbage.
Republicans (represented by Fox News) try and position themselves as the party that inspires hard work and a great America - all while shaming those who need help (see their image above). Wasn't it said that the greatest users of programs like food stamps are military families? What about all those families who have heavy medical bills and poor medical coverage, who can barely live month to month and need help? Sure, some people take advantage of this aid, but it is more important to help those who need it. The gap between the rich and poor is well documented.
I feel bad for those people - ironically enough, many who reside in red states - who work hard every day but can't get ahead without assistance. They must feel like shit every time Fox News does a story about the USA being a nation of takers.
It is depressing to see such a strong divide in that country right now - a country where one party seems to be the "good" party looking to help those in need with programs and less war and health care - and another party so wrapped up in its guns, military, religion, and rich/poor that it doesn't seem to care who they step on to enforce these beliefs. There isn't much arguing that point really - Democrats are the popular party, most of the smart, respected, and funny celebrities tend to speak for them (compared to Trump, Nugent, Palin, Chuck Norris etc), democrats preach equality and caring for all, while Republicans continue to make women's rights and homosexuality an issue. Gun violence is a huge issue in the USA but the Republicans argue that guns are not an issue while being closely tied to the NRA. Romney shockingly suggested 47% of Americans are lazy takers - and this guy was to be the leader of the country. And of course Bush marched the USA into a war which famously ended up being for nothing (WMD's) and has the perception of shielding the super rich from paying high tax rates.
There aren't many likeable things going on with this party these days. And of course the Republicans will do whatever they can to thwart or discredit any change the Democrats try to make, out of fear that it actually works well and further boost the Democrats popularity. Every Republican basically wants Obamacare - affordable health care to millions who didn't have any like most of the best healthcare systems in the world provide - to fail and go away. What a counterproductive country it is right now.
The USA will be a 1 party country soon in terms of who can win national elections, unless someone with some influence can make people believe Republicans care about moving forward, and caring about those who need it the most. Its always been a political struggle, but its getting pretty depressing seeing that the Republicans and their media are hell bent on making the lower class seem like worthless humans in this country. Not everybody can just "go get a great job and have a middle class life". Issues such as health, family, legal, and just plain old ability (mental or physical) will always hold many people back. Giving them less support options and less healthcare will only drive their quality life down, in turn negatively affecting the American culture.
The next decade will be interesting, because right now the Republicans seem to be taking the wrong side of everything and it seems it will take some major internal changes for them to change the pattern.

This post is wrong in everyway. I’m disappointed you can’t view in the only way it’s suppose to be seen. All of these recent episodes should be seen as CHARACTER BUILDING.
The second half of the season is about character building. We learn more about Bob, Beth get’s rid of Daryl’s demons, we learn of Michonne’s past, Carl is more indepeneant, Tyreese has a lot of responsibility, etc. It’s amazing, because we become attached to these characters, and let’s face it; a show where you aren’t drawn to fall in love with characters, enjoying them in the show, having a crush or two, or any personality whatsoever, then what’s the point in making any show. The show is has zombies (Walkers). The show has character & personality. The show keeps me on the edge of my seat. Any character can die at anytime. Being out in the open/on the run/looking for a new place, is just as entertaining then being stuck in, let’s say a prison, for however long, and not much happening. I would be annoyed if the show was just walkers, walkers and more walkers (even though that’s what it’s about/and named). I would be annoyed if the show had action, action and more action all the damn time. And which is why I’m glad they move on from place to place, as new people are introduced, new area, and could be potentially dangerous *ahem* get ready for season 5 with Negan & Lucille *ahem*. Yeah i’ll agree, the epiosdes have been slow. But what’s happened in the episodes, things we find out and well, the whole build up of something epic about to happen, that’s just pure genius :) Many people must really not say these latest are boring, and see them for what they are: CHARACTER BUILDING. Rant over.
I understand character building... but they don't need to spend entire episodes following the same 2 or 3 people around. Some characters have already been kicking around for 3 seasons now - we know enough about them. The show is ultimately popular because of the scenario they are in. I don't care much for endless walker killings, but I do want episodes to be at least interesting. Nothing significant has REALLY happened since they left the prison. Just a lot of wandering and surviving. At least as a group, in a camp/base, things stayed pretty fresh.
There are some things I enjoy about COD Ghosts... and then there is the rest of it. I just have to rant against the ridiculous spawning issues in this game. I just died 3 times in about 10 seconds taking all of about 10 steps in total. One of the times, I spawned, took a step and was knifed in the back. I have spawned many times where a guy is basically running right at me shooting before I have a chance to move an inch. And who doesn't love the "spawn under an attack helicopter"!?
Not sure why I play this game still, it has so many infuriating things about it. The oracle and glowing orange sites are just hilarious. If PS4 had more games in their catalogue, this would be gathering dust unfortunately. It made some good strides in some areas, but overall has created an, at times, mind-numbingly frustrating game to play.

OK, who decided to do entire episodes focused on 1 or 2 characters only? Starting with the "Governor" episodes pre-Xmas, and now the recent ones since the gang all left the prison, these episodes are, quite frankly, boring. It seems like they are building momentum towards a big meeting again, but this is a show that many people would comment about on facebook and twitter after almost every episode. Now, you would hardly know anyone is watching it based on the limited comments that I see.
Everything to this season was entertaining, watching group dynamics and how they dealt with their new reality surrounded by zombies. However, I have little interest in watching 2 people for an hour wander through the woods, and clear houses, and collect supplies. I get that it is an attempt to learn more about the people, but I find the episodes end and I feel like "That`s it?" more often than not these days.
The Walking Dead built up a lot of buzz and momentum in the early seasons, but I can`t help but feel like they are undoing it somewhat with these slow episodes showing nothing we haven`t seen before a thousand times.
The series is over, and I have to say, I was left with an empty feeling after that final episode. Not that I didn't enjoy every second of it, and the adventure into the sick world of Errol Childress was terrifying. And I like that both Marty and Rust lived, despite the expectations for a gloomy finish with certain death.
But the episode played out like the end of a typical Hollywood movie, complete with the "down but not out" hero managing enough strength to fire off one last perfect shot before his partner is killed. Worst of all, they left so many questions unanswered - questions that will NEVER be answered since there is no sequel to this story. They even threw in a one liner from Rust where he briefly complained they didn't get them all.
I loved this show... loved the pace... loved the fans discussing all the details of the show and pointing out all the evidence. I really wish they could have squeezed out one more episode - they could have slowed down the final discovery of Errol as the killer, and also fired together some explanations of the other mysteries. Why did Marty's daughter show every sign of being exposed to this cult? Did the Reverend die accidentally, and if not, who killed him (Doesn't seem like an "Errol" thing to do simply because a tape was stolen)? Who were the other men in the tape? Who else was involved in the Tuttle/Childress family mess? Did Maggie and her family have anything to do with this?
Almost everywhere I look I see people agreeing that the lawnmower man is the scarey spaghetti monster we have heard so much about. Yet the description we have heard from a few people is that he is "the worst", with bad scars around the mouth and neck area. Also, where are the green ears? He doesn't have green ears, and they have never shown him with earphones on.
My guess might be that the father of these kids who did this, scarred a bunch of them, and we only saw one of them. The much feared green eared spaghetti monster with the horrible scarring around the mouth may still be unseen to this point.
Looking forward to it. The speculating has been fun the last few days. I think a few things are bound to happen.
-Maggie's father will be a key player in the cult.
-There will be 5 major players in this cult, as shown in the video, as outlined by the beer can people, the doll scenes created by the daughter etc. The reverend has died, some say he was probably the Yellow King - but who would have ordered his death once he lost the incriminating video? And is the King one of the 5, or the guy who commands 5 others?
-Lawnmower man probably isn't the guy in charge, but certainly part of it, as it seems like he rounded up and recruited many of the missing girls.
-Marty's daughter Audrey will be a major story. She will either be found as the next victim, or they will solve the crime and rescue her. Everything she has done since a child indicates she has first hand exposure to this cult.
I think Marty is just now figuring it all out, and not truly involved. I think if Rust experiences something awful, he kills himself in some way as he is a miserable person who spoke about killing himself in the past.
It's still unclear whether or not Maggie knows what's happening. My gut says she does, or at least she knows her Dad was up to no good and has been trying to protect him along the way.
Should be a good finale! I wish it was 2 hours long though.
OK, I still like what I have convinced myself of in my previous True Detective theory post, but I am doubting it somewhat. Of course I am.
I think its clear either Marty or his ex-wife are involved in this circle. The daughters have clearly witnessed bad things. I am convincing myself more and more that his ex-wife might be the one with ties to this, perhaps she has a Tuttle bloodline/connections somewhere in the past. I can't figure out of Marty knows too and has tried to help cover it up, or if he really has no clue.
-In re-watching the 1st episode, she is very aggressive in trying to get to know who Rust is. She seems annoyed with Marty that he hasn't been asking more questions about his past. She seems nervous of having him working with Marty on this.
-When its learned Rust has been talking to people about missing persons again, she sleeps with him - pretending to be payback on Marty, however it may have been a desperate attempt to break up that partnership for good.
-Her family has money... they have a big place on the lake, and the final scene with her talking to Marty, she is well off and in a very nice place. This could easily turn out to be a tie to the Church or Governor. When she recognizes that Marty will be working with Rust again, she mentioned/asked if he was leaving. He was there for a final meeting to ask about the girls, as if he knew by continuing down the path he was on, it probably wouldn't end well for him. It was almost like she was saying to him "you keep looking into this, and you are done". And he accepted that, suggesting to me that he never really knew what was happening all this time until now.
Marty is also very protective of his women... the mistresses who he angrily wanted to stay home, stay safe. His daughters, who he beat up those kids in jail over. His wife, who he attacked Rust over. The prostitute at the brothel who he gives money to and tells her to get out of the business. Doesn't seem like the kind of guy cool with sexual rituals against women at all.
In summary, I think his ex-wife has close ties to the killings or to those who do them (Dad!?). She has kept close watch on Marty and the investigation - and who his partner is and what would he know. While I argued in the previous post that many things suggest Marty has been covering this up, his genuine interactions with suspects and the case, and the strange send off with his wife, leads me to think he is only now figuring it all out - and both Marty and his ex-wife realize this.
I think that is what is what I will stick with. For now.

I am so excited for the final episode of HBO`s True Detective, but at the same, so disappointed that this will be the final hour of the show. Hard to imagine them wrapping up the series in one final hour at this point. I have loved the dialogue and mood and mystery of the series. What will finally happen? I know there are plenty of e-Detective`s out there offering their thoughts. I have tried to avoid any rumours or articles about the show, other than simple episode recaps. I don`t want to read something that may ruin it for me.
The show could end fairly straightforward: They have shown us the Yellow King supposedly, and Rust and Marty appear to have found someone who can point them in the right direction. The final episode could simply follow that path and we will see them finally catch up to the Yellow King. Or not. Either way, the storyline we are being fed could continue down the expected path of the two detectives solving the crime.
I, like many, have gone through a few scenarios in my head as to who is behind all this over the last 7 episodes. I am sure there are very detailed websites out there outlining their case for what they feel will happen. So here is my "2nd Scenario" synopsis.
Marty was the one guy that the series never really threw much weight into as being capable of this. He seems like a pretty old school, simple detective who has anger issues. Hardly seems like the kind of guy who would be into ritualistic killings and child abductions. However, I would not be surprised if Rust meets his end out on that boat the 7th episode left off on. If Marty is part of it, its probably just as the Sheriff who was covering up, or allowing, this all to happen. I don`t think he is the Yellow King, but he could certainly be part of the giant cover up in the area.
He was pretty skeptical of Rust`s findings the whole time, despite them being very clearly important facts. He shot LeDoux, to Rust`s shock, before they could interrogate him. Once the crime was "solved" the first time and they pinned it on the dead guy, life went on. Rust was no longer a threat to the truth (maybe). Once they started investigating again, and Rust showed up at the crime scenes, they are called in for questioning. If Rust is poking around again, Marty would get worried. Maybe he orchestrated the whole questioning thing, to bring them back together inconspicuously or accidentally, ala another favorite of mine "The Usual Suspects". The reason he left the force (baby in Microwave) seemed too simple, and even Rust didn`t want to let that issue go. Rust may be the guy setting Marty up for the big arrest, hard to say.
Either way, I wouldn`t be shocked to see that Marty was behind at least the cover up of this ring. How can you be a well connected Sheriff in a small town, knowing everyone, and seem to have no clue about what everyone is up to? If it is revealed he is part of it, I bet the uncovered truth will be amazing.
My only issue with my own conspiracy theory is that the show presents us with many honest scenes of Marty trying to get to the bottom of the case... interrogating guys, looking up data, relaying info to Rust, risking his life etc. Perhaps the whole time he was doing this - finding these leads - was to find LeDoux and be able to pin it on him and get Rust off the case. If this turns out to be true - this show, and Marty`s intelligence - was even more incredible than I thought.
One final thought - the exchange between Marty and his ex-wife was an odd one. She is clearly well off, and happy where she is. Where is she, and who is she with? Could be a pretty key answer to all this. There seemed to be some cryptic eye contact and wording between the two. Something was going on. Either she knows he is behind this (and he knows, she knows) - or *BAM*, she is very much involved in this whole thing. It would explain the daughters drawing pictures of a ritualistic or murder scene at an early age. They have seen this before - Either via Marty, or his wife.
I am tempted to go back and watch the last episode, where they showed the video of the ritualistic ceremony. I wonder if there is something in that tape that gives either Marty, or his wife, away. It was also an odd question from Marty who asked Rust if he had watched the whole video too. Seems like an odd question at that point, after seeing what he saw just then.
I think I am on to something! Either way, I loved the show, and will miss it. I hope they can capture some of the same mood in season 2 - whatever direction they go with a new story and new actors.
