"A soulmate is someone that just gets you. It's a connection of minds, a mutual respect, an unconditional love and a total understanding. It's about being yourself and knowing, not only that person is following and understanding your thoughts, but is right there with you, side by side." ~ Charlotte

@seriouslysam8 has an incredible next set of chapters coming up. I will let her explain why they are called the "Interlude".
I hope you enjoy this musical sneak peak on what is to come!
Also -> as a side note. Please be kind in the comments and asks. Most of you are incredible and supportive! <3 that is the only reason why I want to keep helping with the fic (and my eternal love of Sam). But if you don't like choices the author makes, please stop making it personal. Sam is a wonderful and lovely real person. Please choose kindness before pressing send <3
I once again find myself needing to remind everyone that the spell James Potter uses to hang Severus Snape by his ankles in OoTP was a spell invented by... that's right, Severus Snape. The only way James would have learned the spell was if.... that's right, again, if Severus used the spell on someone else first.
And also, the scene might have been the first time that he called Lily a Mudblood, but to quote Lily, "you call everyone of my birth Mudblood, Severus. Why should I be any different?"
James wasn't bullying some innocent kid. He was bullying a wannabe death eater with his own spells.

This surprised me as much as it might do some of you. I started writing this when I was ill with the flu last week, abandoned it because I was feeling too poorly to focus and then - when I opened it again this morning - I didn't hate what I'd typed out so far and wrote a few additional scenes.
I hope you enjoy this Jily Actors AU Oneshot (I can't guarantee this is the last time I'll write about them as actors).
Anyone who has never heard the names Lily Evans and James Potter before must be a boomer. The two actors have dominated the box office with their films in the past nine years, more often than not starring opposite one another. Whether tasked to portray mutual pining, passionate hatred or fiery love, Potter and Evans make the screen positively buzz with the taste of opportunity.
Snooping for presents is a common pass time around Christmas, especially in the Potter household. A fluffy family Christmas story featuring Harry, Ginny, and all the kids. Hinny Fluff. One-shot.
A little fluffy Christmas drabble.
For the amazing @thisismegz ! Congratulations, darling! You're beautiful and I hope everyone treats you with the same kindness you've always given to me. Love you!

âHurry, Lily! Mum and Dad are gonna be home any second!â
âWhen snooping for Christmas presents when your parents arenât home, shouldnât you be more worried about me?â Teddy poked his head into Harry and Ginnyâs bedroom. âBesides, Ginny wouldnât lay them out in plain sight when she knows youâre her son.â
Lilyâs little head peeped out from under the bed and she blew her fringe from her eyes.Â
âThey arenât here Jamie.âÂ
Jamieâs shoulders slumped forward.
âWhat about you, Al?âÂ
Alâs head popped out of the clothes in the closet. âNothing.â
âMaybe they didnât get us anything.â Jamie sighed.
âDonât be silly.â Teddy laughed. âTheyâre your parents. They got you something. And even if they didnât, you havenât been so bad that Father Christmas would forget you entirely.âÂ
âBut last year we found them, and the year before that too.âÂ
âThen they probably hid them really well this year. Come on, letâs go back downstairs.â
Teddy chuckled as all the kids filed out of the Potterâs bedroom. He remembered when he used to act that way, snooping around for presents at Christmas time. He was more mature than that now. Now heâs trusted to help set out presents at the appointed time; and he knows that his family loves him enough to find presents heâll like.
Jamieâs head was nearly down by his shoes as he slumped down the stairs and his older brother took pity on the poor lad.
âHow about I get out the biscuits and whatâs left of the wassail from yesterday and we can play a game till your parents get home?â
âAlright,â Jamie said with a little shrug of his slumped shoulders.
The game and sugar worked wonders and by the time Harry and Ginny were home, Jamie had forgotten all about snooping for presents.
âThank you for watching them for us.â Ginny hugged him. âIâm sure there were better things to be doing than watching your god-siblings.â
âI donât mind.â Teddy placed their mugs in the sink. âOh, and you should know Jamie had them snooping in your room for presents.â
Harry chuckled. âHe wonât find them there.â
âI didnât think he would.â Teddy nodded. âBut I thought Iâd give you a heads up.â
âHave you done all your shopping?â Ginny put her hand on his shoulder. âI could take you tomorrow.â
âI got everything with Gran when the train came in. She said we were already in London and might as well take advantage of it.â
âSmart woman, your Gran.â Harry smiled. âNow why donât you run on up to bed and weâll get you back home in the morning.â
Teddy wished them both goodnight and headed for the stairs.
âYou know.â Ginnyâs voice was quiet. âIâm going to take a lot of joy one day in telling Jamie that all the presents were right in front of him the whole time.âÂ
Teddy paused, curious if sheâd reveal the hiding place.
After all, he should know so as to steer Jamie in the wrong direction.
âThat spot only works for as long as I donât need my cloak for work.â Harryâs voice was almost too quiet to be heard.
âIâll be sure to ask Father Christmas to keep all the baddies away until Christmas.â
âYouâll need to ask him to keep the kids off the ceilings as well, then.â
Teddyâs jaw dropped, and he looked above him.Â
His godparents had hid the presents on the ceiling and then covered them with Harryâs invisibility cloak? Jamie would never even think to check the ceiling! Teddy wasnât even supposed to know Harry had the cloak, but heâd eves dropped from this same spot before and heard about it then.Â
Satisfied that Jamie wouldnât be able to ruin his Christmas surprises, Teddy walked up the stairs to his room.
âHeâs in his room.â Harry wrapped his arms around Ginnyâs waist and kissed her neck.
âDo you think he believed us?âÂ
âOf course he did, or he wouldnât have gone upstairs.â Harry kissed her again, ready to move their conversation on to other things.
âHold that thought.âÂ
Ginny slipped from his arms and laughed at the pout Harry gave her for that. She picked up her wand and brought the box of old mugs down from atop the refrigerator. Then pulled the last of the Christmas gifts from the bags and shrunk them down to fit inside the mugs. She placed the box back on top of the refrigerator.
âThere.â She slid up against him. âNow, where were we?â
Harry pulled her close and spoke low against her ear. âSomewhere along these lines.â
Ginnyâs response was a quiet moan as she melted into him.
âTake me to bed, Mr. Potter.â
âWith pleasure, Mrs. Potter.â
Harry swept her into his arms and up the stairs to their room. No one was going to be finding their presents early, not even Ginny.
Hey Sam, I understand your stance on Hermione but I was wondering why Ron is being given the green light. He wasnât the greatest friend to Harry either and I feel like a lot of people especially fandom give him this pass because heâs a male. Fandom has given him so many excuses it irritates me because if he was female character he wouldnât be given that many chances. Heâs not the only male character who fandom has turned a blind eye to, Draco is another character who fandom has turned into a hero and made excuses for. If Draco was female character would he be given a chance at redemption? I donât think so. The only 3 characters that stuck by Harry and were loyal to a fault were Ginny, George, and Fred. I was pretty in the end of HBP that Harry didnât ditch Ron and Hermione and go on the hunt with the twins and Ginny (if underage magic wasnât an issue).
It has absolutely nothing to do with gender. None. I truly disagree with you that Ron gets a free pass by the fandom. He and the rest of the Weasleys are often vilified while Hermione stands on this golden pedestal.
Hermione has been constantly glorified by the HP fandom to the point where everyone overlooks all of her flaws. Sheâs the most popular female character by far, being paired with every single character in the entire series. Sheâs the smartest, the most clever, secretly the most beautiful witch, etc etc etc. Ron isnât good enough for her in the Romione pairing because heâs dumb, lazy, and amazingly jealous.
Meanwhile, Ron is often shafted and bashed in fandom. Heâs portrayed as dumb, a terrible friend, and a terrible boyfriend/husband. Ron had a few bouts of jealousy when it comes to Harry, but that kid opened up his entire family to an orphan. A kid with 6 other siblings and who is often overlooked made sure his best mate who had no one was always welcome in his home and stayed behind every holiday with Harry. He made sure his mom made him a jumper for Christmas so heâd have Christmas presents to open. He stands up to who they think is a mass murderer and says that Sirius will have to kill him too. He didnât talk down to Harry like Hermione always did. He often played the peacemaker between the two when they were at odds.
Ginny is often vilified by the fandom, a little fan girl who gave Harry love potions. đ Hermione? Nah, nobody would ever say that about Hermione. Sheâs too amazing on all fronts.
I think a major reason that Hermione and Draco are glorified and often paired is because of the looks of the actors who played them. Also, Hermione was given all of Ronâs amazing lines. Ron was shoved into the background as comedic relief. Ginny was⌠well, she was fucking nonexistent.
So, I donât think itâs a gender issue at all. I think the movies played a massive role in fandom perceptions.
I will be a Ron stan until the end of time. He was an amazing friend who made some mistakes when it came to some bouts of jealousy but I stand firmly behind the fact that he was generally an amazing friend. There is a reason Harry would miss him the most in the second task. There is a reason why Harry always hated when they fought and was miserable while you never heard him say he missed Hermione when they were fighting. Ron deserves better and not because heâs a male. Thatâs ridiculous and Iâm not here for that. Itâs based purely on character and traits.
For the record, Draco is a turd and always will be. He was only mildly better as an adult but heâs still a shit person.

I officially made the series on AO3 and updated my ff.net profile.
Now, I'm finally getting around to doing my edits for chapter one. I put off my edits knowing that I'd want to start posting as soon as they were done. It's going to be a long couple of days.
A couple people asked me privately if Backstabber was needed to be read to enjoy the rest of the series, since several of you either weren't interested in Marauders or couldn't get through the darkness of that story. Backstabber isn't necessary unless you want a more in-depth background into some things that happened in the first war. Things that are important that happened in Backstabber, will be discovered and explained through Harry's POV. So, you can learn the important stuff with Harry and through his eyes. If you want a more in-depth look at some of those events, you can go back and read Backstabber. But, honestly, there's only one main storyline from Backstabber that continues throughout the series. If you have been following me for awhile, you know that Marlene McKinnon did not die during the first war and she will play a role in the series. What happened to her is explained and sprinkled throughout Brumous. So, if you didn't read Backstabber, you get a little mini-mystery that you can read and piece together what happened with Remus, Sirius, and Harry. If you read Backstabber, you already know what happened that dreadful summer.
âSpeaking of potential boyfriends, donât look, Ginny, but Harry Potter is looking at you and awkwardly shifting like he doesnât know whether to interrupt or run,â Gemma added.
Demelza looked over and gave him a little wave. âYou did break up with Michael, right?â
Ginnyâs heart sped up as she slowly turned to see Harry was indeed standing awkwardly by the stairs and looking at them with the strap of his satchel gripped in his hands. His neck and cheeks looked flushed. He shot Ginny a lopsided grin when he caught her eye. Somehow, she got her lips to cooperate and shot him a reassuring smile.Â
âNot yet,â Ginny whispered as she stood up, smoothing her skirt.
âNot yet?â Demelza hissed. âWhy not?â
âOh, Ginny,â Gemma groaned. âYouâre going to miss your bloody chance with Harry Potter.â
âShh,â Ginny shot in their direction before she made her way over towards Harry.
Relief spread across his face, his lips tugging up the closer she got. Her heart fluttered in her chest as she tried not to think about the fact that Demelza and Gemma were probably watching with bated breath at their interaction. She pushed that thought to the back of her mind as she stopped short of him, their eyes meeting.
Reaching out a hand, she touched his wrist. âAre you all right?â
Harry blinked at her for a second, his eyes snapping down to her fingers touching him. She pulled away, not wanting to upset him. She knew he didnât like to be touched, but sometimes she couldnât help herself ever since Easter. It was almost as though something had shifted between them, the air surrounding them light and airy. She rather liked it.
âYeah, I, uh⌠Ron and Hermione are at a prefects meeting,â he replied, his brows disappearing underneath his glasses as he looked back up at her.
Ginny nodded. âIs there⌠do you, uh, do you need help with something?â
Harryâs tongue peeked out of his mouth. âI wanted to talk toâŚÂ Snuffles. I was, uh, I was wondering if youâd be my lookout.â
âYeah, of course, Harry,â Ginny said without missing a beat. âIs anything wrong?â
Harry shifted. âNo, so donât feel obligated if you donât want to.â
Ginny rolled her eyes. âTrust me, Iâm not doing anything I donât want to do. Youâre fine. Iâm happy to help you. Youâve helped me loads.â
Harry blinked. âWith what?â
Ginnyâs heart thudded in her chest. She was fairly certain he didnât want to hear about how he had quite literally saved her life when he was only twelve years old. Cocking her head to the side, the corners of her lips twitched.Â
âYou helped me reach that book in the library the other week,â Ginny replied as he let out a small chuckle. âYou saved me from being suffocated by dust bunnies when we cleaned out the study last summer. Oh! You split the last piece of treacle tart with me over Christmas break when I really needed something sweet. You split your Easter egg with me after Quidditch practice when I was upset that Peakes nearly knocked me off my broom to what was almost my death. Two summers ago, at the Quidditch World Cup, do you remember you gave me your jacket after the attack? Yeah, I never gave that back, by the way, and I never intend to.â
A grin crossed Harryâs face. âAh, that jacket with the stripes down the sleeves? That was one of my good jackets. I was wondering where that went.â
Ginny tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. âIt was far too small for you anyway. It didnât even cover your wrists!â
Harry shoved his hands into his trouser pockets. âEmbarrassingly enough, I think I got that jacket when I was nine. My aunt ordered it for my cousin and they shipped the wrong size and it fit me pretty decently.â
