When I’m a bit low energy, I find it harder to perform emotions so I usually end up with a monotone tone and seem sad. When I’m a bit low energy at meals and occurrences with my family my mum often makes ‘are you depressed’ jokes. It feels insensitive.

Sorry. DA is Dragon Age. The character I was talking about is Cole. He’s a spirit. As a spirit, he’s ageless, though he takes the form of someone else. The man he took the form of (long story, but uhhh basically lore-wise spirits like to act out real world events and sometimes pretend to be people they connect with deeply that have died to the point where they can even assume the identity of that person) was twelve when he died but Cole’s form and identity has continued to age.
If you help him become more human and more physical, he even can even get involved romantically with a woman around his physical age which you learn post game, and eventually starts showing sexual attraction to her a few years into dating.
So yes. He’s an adult.

I find it odd since the character of Cole not only is ageless, but also physically ages in appearance as well. The character is an adult, and people (general people, not anon) are babying him.
Even after more digging, it seems that there is a set difference between spirit Cole and real Cole, where spirit Cole is an adult, so there is clear infantilization coming from the fandom.
ableism is when my friends tell me they can manage and help with my disabilities and illness. and then leave for that very reason.

Once I saw somebody was using the term intrusive thoughts wrong, then getting annoyed at people gently correcting them. So I gave them a real life example of one of my own intrusive thoughts. They got REALLY angry and uncomfortable at me about it, saying “I don’t want to hear about that, that’s really uncomfortable” and similar things.
Well, buddy, maybe you shouldn’t misuse terminology on purpose if you don’t want to hear actual examples of it. 🙄

Stereotypes about people who struggle with hygiene as being creepy, weird, discord/reddit mods and groomers, lazy, losers, not worth listening to or unable to be loved at all. Hygiene is one of those things that can be impacted by executive function and disability and while we should all try our best, not everyone can keep up with it all the time especially without support or a system in place.
Stereotypes are ableist.
Ableism is needing help on phone calls sometimes because im having a bad anxiety day, overwhelmed, and/or overstimulated, and then my family, who used to help me with it, refusing to do it because ive done it before by myself. My capabilities range from day to day, and so does my mental state, and they do not believe me. They think progress is permanent when it is easily lost, then get mad with me when it as been lost. Its exhausting because I've had anxiety attacks over it and then they think im being dramatic and then I feel like garbage

The result of ableism is needing help to make appointments through phone calls because the medical facility doesn't have a "schedule through the app" option for this type of appointment despite having it for other types of appointments. They also do not give any contact information so that I can call or them to make an appointment (its a different number for each medical department in the facility, so i can't just use a number from before because its for a different department)

not defending use of the r slur but homestuck was written in 2009. you really have to lower your expectations, there’s a ton of technically problematic shit that was very normalized at the time

ableism is 1 of my friends posting things with gore, flashing lights, eyestraining images, shock/horror etc. and giving no warning even labeling 1 of the shock/horror videos as 'the funniest thing [they]'ve ever seen'. i've told them many times how fucked up that is to show with no warning yet they do it over and over with the same exuse of 'oh i didn't know 😢😢😢' as if i haven't told them so many times.
today i ending up just making a post about how i'm going offline/no contact for a while due to a friend posting triggering content with no warning, and they proceeded to respond to it going 'was this about me 😢😢😢 this want me right?' (emojis an actual part of the messages they send btw i'm not just adding them for fun). like idk. i wonder if the straight up (cgi/body horror) GORE u posted may've been the thing that triggered me. i fucking wonder.

There’s a character in DA who’s autistic coded - he was actually written with the writers autistic nephew in mind, I think? They did a pretty good job, in my opinion. He’s not necessarily written to BE autistic, just with a lot of behaviors inspired by an autistic person.
Anyway, of course the fandom babies him. I once saw someone who had a smut request book on AO3 say they refused to write smut for him because “he’s basically a child.” :|

I hate when youtubers do this stuff and it's happens so often. No one ever talks about it because ableism is so normalized in our society..especially with commentary youtubers covering disabled creators. Just because a disabled person happens to be a bad person doesn't mean their disabilities are just allowed to be made fun of.

idk if this is dumb and minor but im playing a roblox game with some gacha aspects and when rolling for the gacha the items cycle EXTREMELY quickly and its so flashy it gives me a headache. theres 0 flash warning, it could be so dangerous for epileptics especially considering that its already giving me, a non-epileptic person, a hard time
