Am I swinging in the winds of exterior influences or am I steadfastly aligned to my values? So we come to the needs of this old heart of mine. XIV Temperance, my dearest ally, always at my side to a reminder of the importance of Citta, the balanced alignment of Heart and Mind. Looking closer I notice a resonance in the upside down position of the star in the Devil and the Hanged Man, reminding me of a phrase by Rudolf Steiner, quoted by Dr Malte Hozzel in his book Man and Plants, An Ancient Alliance: “Man is a plant turned upside down" The Hanged Man and the Devil’s star both have their energy anchored not in Earth but in the ethereal realm of consciousness. The message conveyed by Hozzel is that to take care of one's roots is to take care of one's consciousness. Aromatically, this suggests the importance of root oils, such as Ginger or Vetiver, as a source of support when I’m navigating through any stress and disharmonies ahead. I needed to step back from social media for a while as I surfed some panicky emotional waves. These washed me up unto the shore of a painting I’d left unfinished a year ago. Embracing my sovereignty as I map out the future #creatuitivesparks, I realise how much serendipity has always been my philosophy until recently. Can’t think why I never posted about my zentangles before, it’s such a quiet little practice in my heartscape it didn’t seem significant. Iv’e always been a doodler, it started at school to stay awake during dreary classes. I have a small unlined notebook just a few inches square that I carry around in my bag & another on my desk, a selection of fine micro pens & a staedtler micro pencil I can easily stretch out for. Especially useful in waiting rooms or on long-haul journeys, but also daily, to take a break from the mundane, I find it harnesses my tendency for procrastination, coaxes me playfully back to deal with the tasks at hand.
