This is phobia based discrimination (might change the blog name but couldn't think of anything better) blog is for all those with phobias (unique or common) that have faced discrimination because of those phobias!

Every time I stop walking on the street because there's a dog nearby and I have a phobia to dogs but whoever I'm with just starts laughing at it... 😔

Just wanna say men in fact should be gynecologists because there are people with vaginas that are afraid of women and they deserve medical care just as much as everyone else

I have gynephobia but I cant be open about it without being labeled as misogynistic

Idk if I or someone else sent this in already, but those “ranking different phobias/your fears” videos. I’ve never watched any but not only do they seem like the easiest way ever for someone to make fun of phobias, but the thumbnails are usually either calling out a fear as “lame,” or they’re using a photo of a super common phobia, or both (one used an image of a hand with little holes in it. I have trypophobia.)

every day i see news articles with needles as the cover picture. like shots. in someone’s arm. luckily i’m doing a lot better mentally and know how to calm myself down now, but a few years or even months ago this would have caused me to have a panic attack!!

I don’t have a phobia this is me asking a question so I can understand better.

You could express your intense fear of insects and some bugblr 'entomologists' would pop up in an instant to shame you, invalidate you and ridicule you for it. I swear they care more about malaria-spreading mosquitoes more than actual fucking people.

The area Im from does yearly vaccinations at school but I get them at the clinic instead because I have trypanophobia and will cry very hard and have a panic attack at the sight of needles/injections

I loved this blog. It made me feel less stupid about my phobias (i have a phobia of elevators, phobia of tall places, claustrophobia, phobia of slugs/snails and cockroaches The last two are the ones I felt the most stupid about, because they're just small, silly animals, so why would I be afraid of them?)

People trying to trigger my trypophobia because it’s “funny” after being told I have it. It’s not funny. Even the slight thought of clusters of holes will make me itchy all over.

Forcing someone with a phobia to be around the object of their phobia enough times in situations they literally can’t escape and disapproving of them showing anything more than a mild reaction to said thing to the point that now their first reaction to that thing is “dissociation”.

this is probably minor but the way animal crossing frames blathers' fear of bugs as like a silly, quirky thing? like, im afraid of bugs. i can barely handle catching them (especially the tarantula bc it FUCKING CHASES YOU) but yeah...blathers deserves better than to be terrorised w so many bugs

sigh, when i was younger i used to make fun of my dad for having a fear of snakes, which is ironic given that i am scared of: bugs, planets, eating something thats gone bad, eye injuries, getting hurt, sounds of bugs buzzing, large groups of old people (only if theyre in big groups???), dying suddenly and leaving everyone behind, and probably some other stuff i cant remember at the moment. i am also very prone to developing intense fears that border on phobias or turn into them.
