inspired by blogs like @this-is-purity-culture @this-is-ableism, @tfems-for-tmasc-rights and @comprehensive-sex-ed , this blog seeks to call out, document, and fight against anti kink rhetoric. this rhetoric can come from radfems, conservatives, and even within the queer community.

it is often in the form of demonizing women's sexuality, and queer sexual expression, and demonizing safe kink education. this can be very harmful.

this blog is focused on anti kink rhetoric, but also can document anti sex work rhetoric, purity culture, and censorship, and more.

this blog will cover things such as the demonization of women's erotic literature, safe kink education, "taboo" kinks, queerphobia and sexism rooted in anti kink rhetoric, misinformation, and anti fiction talking points. this blog may also discuss ocd, specifically moral and pocd.

this blog is run by a disabled transfem of color, who believes transandrophobia, intersexism, and exorsexism are real, so if you are bigoted against any of those groups, i advise you stay away. any hate will be dissected as a lesson in rhetoric.

This is not anti-kink or related really but it's something I just thought y'all here might find funny. One time I had a dream that, in the middle of it, I saw a sign that said something along the lines of "The most important part of being a tickle fetishist is consent". The dream had nothing to do with tickling or kinks or anything (I can't recall much else about the dream, but from what I do remember, it was otherwise very boringly normal). I do not have a tickle kink and, for personal reasons, it makes me very uncomfortable (and to be clear, I have absolutely zero hate/disgust/negativity towards people who do have tickle kinks/fetishes). It was just a sign randomly hung up on a wall in a building, that had literally nothing to do with the rest of the dream. The dream itself contained no other sexual/kinky content or vibes. I think about it a lot and laugh because it was so out of left field.

If anyone else has any "unexpected moments in dreams that make you laugh that have to do with kinks/fetishes", feel free to share.

Okay, so like, this is the exact same argument that "antis" use for EVERYTHING. black women being brutalized, women being brutalized in general, incest, etc. The idea that liking fictional abuse has some indicator on your real life morals is just not true, it is NOT a reliable indicator.

With that out of the way, It is not a race specific thing TYPICALLY for people who like these fics, they tend to just like seeing their faves abused no matter what, so it is unlikely there is a secret racist bias here. (I do find it funny that the types who complain about this are also the type who complain there aren't enough characters of color in popular ship rankings and things. like yeah that'll happen when you ensure they're put on a pedestal. they also tend to claim proshippers are racist because they allegedly only like white characters, yet they act like it is some kind of "gotcha" to see a nonwhite character with any dark tropes, so what do they really want???)

Also, at least from my experience and what I've seen, people who DO enjoy stuff like that and make it race specific are usually people of that race working through their own trauma, or just like to see a character like them being abused bc they self insert as the victim.

Unless someone is OPEN about writing these fics with a racist motivation, there is no way of knowing why they like it. If they are open about it then yeah, they're racist and should probably be avoided because of it, but there is typically no way of knowing, and we should not throw out the entire concept of including POC in kink and darkfic content because of the possibility of a racist person being behind it, that's how POC are talked over and pushed out of fandom spaces, and perpetuates the idea that everyone online is white.

I'm pretty sure that me being both embarrassed and nervous to actually share the fact that I realized that I have a kink in the first place after basically a year of questioning and also starting testosterone (hypnokink, specifically) is a result of anti-kink rhetoric, if that counts? I have told exactly two friends about it (one who I knew would be fine with me mentioning kinks because they write smut (but I did double check with them first before discussing some thoughts I was having about it), and one who mentioned that a previous partner of theirs was into CNC and seemed like they'd be accepting and chill about it even if it wasn't something they were into specifically) and also my therapist (who has been extremely accepting and understanding of that and me discussing how I had pedophilic intrusive thoughts in the past (along with the main themes of sexual, suicidal, and moral OCD intrusive thoughts I deal with)), but I feel like I can't tell anyone else in my life about being into hypnosis and brainwashing because I don't think people will be accepting. At best, they'll think it's weird and creepy.

i'm sure you get lots of asks but i'm new to the fanfic/tumblr fandom scene. when you say horrific topics like incest and noncon should exist, do you mean they should exist because it happens irl but it shouldn't be romanticized? because if so i agree. i think we should experience reading and/or writing such things. movies and shows have portrayed such acts for years. but i think the problem lies through the fetishization and romanticization of it.

no. I mean romanticize whatever you want. my stance has always been “write whatever you want, however you want.”

not to mention that you can’t always tell if something romanticizes bad things. two people can read the same fic, one can say “this romanticizes non-con”, the other can say, “no, this doesn’t romanticize anything.” it’s all about each person’s interpretation. it’s all subjective.

that said, if someone wants to romanticize bad things in fiction, then go ahead. it’s their rights and their freedom to create whatever they want, however they want. no censorship means nothing is censored, doesn’t matter how it was written/created.

and if these taboo fantasies are someone’s fetish, then as long as they’re not harming anyone in real life, what turns them on is literally none of your business.

incest and cnc kinks have always been one of the most popular kinks, and most people who are into them can separate fiction from reality.

(and if some of them can’t, their inability to separate fiction, kinks and fantasies from reality is not other people’s problem or responsibility.)

fanfiction is not an act of activism. someone’s kink and what they do in bed with their consenting partner is not an act of activism. kill the moral cop in your head. fanfiction and kinks don’t have to be “morally correct”. it can be whatever turns a person on, however turns a person on, and as long as no one in real life is harmed, what they do and how they do it is no one’s business.

you don’t have to be comfortable with it. you don’t have to like it. you don’t have to understand it. you just have to mind your own business and not shame or harass others over fiction and fantasies. because otherwise it’ll just make you a bully who wants to find a “morally correct” excuse to shame and harass innocent people.
