Interview
Interviewer: -Asks me a technical question- Me: “My heart rate is 115 and I forgot everything”
The Right To Protest
If you are telling me NOW how important protests are, especially after the Women's March; and you are one of those who codemned voting for a third party as a "protest vote". You don't support the right to protest.
Autonomy vs. "You Should"
Try typing “you should” into Google right now, and you’ll find "10 things YOU SHOULD buy", "11 everyday items YOU SHOULD stop using now", and "YOU SHOULD not put jade eggs in your vagina", etc. How can we remain autonomous while being constantly told our instructions?
Too often, the world hands us these solutions. It is our responsibility to filter these solutions to choose what is best for own lives, or discard all of them in favor of one that you came up with. The choice to remain autonomous is a conscious one that needs to be made hundreds of times per day.
Autonomy isn't for everyone. We've been programmed by our genes which provide innate instructions on how we should behave. We've been programmed by our parents and our teachers. We've been programmed by a vast depth of media which we have consumed throughout our lives.
Autonomy isn't for me. I was programmed a long time ago to think for myself. The fact that I can consider being autonomous is a facade. Its a charming facade that I rather enjoy; but I know that it is unlikely that I ever thought a unique thought.
I nearly didn’t start this blog
I nearly didn’t start this blog because I will never be the best writer. I nearly didn’t apply for the job because I know I’m not the best programmer. I nearly didn’t get out of bed because I’m afraid the day will bring me failure. I’m starting to realize that it doesn’t matter. I’m starting to realize that I’m not incompetent. I am starting to feel pride in whatever I do; because whether or not I fail, I got out of bed, and I got that interview, and I started this blog.

Life is a peanut butter and Nutella sandwich. You can choose to be like everyone else and use creamy peanut butter. A daring few use crunchy peanut butter. Me? I use a 4 pound tub of extra crunchy.
Why do the Oscars maintain "best actor/actress" binary? Eliminating this would not only make acting more accepting as an industry, but also pit female and male actors against each other for a better judge of acting skill rather than appearance.
