A quick update after Tasmin’s first treatment:

The initial estimate was a little low, however the amount of donations we have received astounds us! Right now, we are not worried about additional cost because of the support shown to our young family by almost everyone we know. Thank you for donating and for sharing our campaign!

More good news, Tasmin is taking to the treatment very well! She has put on weight, and her x-rays show that she is only in stage one of the disease. With the proper treatments, our new pup should live a very long and happy life. Thanks to you all, treatments are looking more and more possible. 

In just the first day, we have raised almost 2/3 of our goal! Our little girl will be healed soon! If you can spare some love for a poor pup, it would mean the world to us.

Confession: I kind of abhor too many personal posts here. I use this blog for inspiration mostly, and to get away from the real world a lot, but I’ll eat my own words and post this anyway.

My husband and I agreed not to get each other presents this year. Hell, we kind of agreed not to go on any dates this year either, but we make exceptions if friends invite us somewhere. We’re young, we’re just starting out, and we’re trying plan for the future, so it seems like the best thing for now. We sometimes go to play with shelter animals though, and we just couldn’t resist this dog. Ironically, she was an anniversary present, because a dog could warm our hearts the way that presents can’t.

The link has more details, but the short story is she has heart worm and that shit is expensive to treat. We don’t even officially own her yet, but if we give her back we’re afraid they will put her down. The shelter can’t provide the treatment she needs. Besides we WANT to keep her. We just need a little help to do that.

If my remaining followers all gave just $10, we would reach our goal and Miss Tasmin could receive her medication!

So, my husband just realized we still have a cookie mix he received for Christmas.

Him: We should make these– oh, wait. We don’t have any eggs, do we?

Me: We have chia seeds!

Him: Eww, no.

Me: You can’t even tell!

Him: OH. I CAN TELL.

Me: No you can’t!

Him: Oh yeah??

Me: Yeah!

Him: MAKE ME AN OMELETTE.
