spent the week theorizing about subcultures, stemming from this book called “freak nation” that i’ve kept in my collection for the last 10 years. this was accompanied by examining myself and further peeling back the layers of identities i’ve assumed over time. link in my bio to this post 🌈 i also included a playlist of songs i’ve compiled throughout january 🎧

~electric hair~

today, i wrote about the musical hair, the 5th dimension medley of “aquarius/let the sunshine in,” and the time i found an electric version of the musical’s score featuring the moog synthesizer. this whole narrative really came full circle due to my childhood experience with musical theatre (more on that later).

these photos were taken after i washed and twisted my hair and reminded me of when i was younger and wore colorful banded ponytails all over. so much synchronized inspiration here. my mind is a maze sometimes.
