There's nothing left for him. His daughter. He wasn't her father, either. She loves him. She'll survive. She's young. I don't want you to die. Don't kill him. Let him live. Let him live. Don't kill him.

It’s all fun and games laughing about Haymitch over sharing and Katniss under sharing in comparison until you realize Haymitch is trying to remember all the fine details of everyone he will never see again and Katniss is trying to protect her remaining autonomy by keeping those details private
The difference in their trauma responses being shown from the very start of their narratives guts me
One of the saddest parts of the Hunger Games prequels was seeing the ghost of a community Katniss could have had if the circumstances were different. The girl who carried so much loyalty, kindness, and goodwill towards people could have had friends, loving aunts and uncles, a large extended family. But we meet her in the first book and she's so lonely. She remembers the songs that her family once sung but doesn't know their names. Her late father's best friend is the town's drunk. The fiddle player she only remarks about in passing knows her grief like no one else does. she's so alone and didn't have to be.
those of you who complain about the rebellion being present in sotr… do you really think that it can be planned in a year?
it was very blatantly present in tbosas (when the arena was bombed), pre-sotr (beetee's failed plan), in sotr (when haymitch tries to destroy the arena), throughout thg (mainly in katniss's inner monologue), somewhat present in catching fire and finally, in mockingjay.
that's 65 years of trial and error, alongside the terrible consequences (beetee being forced to mentor his own son and watch him die, haymitch's family burned alive, "accidents" in the mines, district 12 bombed until it was nothing but ashes)
a rebellion can't be planned in a year. it takes time, and it requires sacrifice.

DOCTOR WHO | 2.00
Eddie Munson who really can't stand the sight of blood, especially after the bats incident.
He just freezes and gets nauseous, his stomach feels tight and unsettled. He doesn't pass out or anything, but Eddie has to admit that sometimes it feels like a very close call.
Steve is not very good with blood either, though he definitely isn't as bad as Eddie is.
But then it comes a day where everyone is gathered at Steve's, one of those very rare days where everyone was available and they could actually hang out.
The kids are causing chaos, being reckless as fuck as they jump into the pool while Steve and Eddie are grilling burgers; Robin, Nancy and Jonathan are in the kitchen bickering as they bring the rest of the food and drinks outside.
It happens in a matter of seconds, really. One moment Mike and Dustin are playfully fighting each other inside the pool, the next Mike pushes Dustin with a little too much strength and Dustin ends up hitting his head on the edge.
And then there's blood.
Like, a lot of blood. The edge of the pool is smeared red, the water too.
Everyone panics.
The kids screech and cry out, while Dustin just looks confused as he stares at his bloodied hand after he touches his injury, as if not understanding what is happening at all.
Steve panics too because that's Dustin, and he's hurt and Steve should totally do something about this but he's stuck in place for some reason.
It's Eddie who ends up moving first, to everybody's utter astonishment.
He scrambles towards the pool and helps Dustin out, ushering him to the bathroom where Eddie grabs a clean towel and applies pressure to the wound to stop the bleeding.
His actions seem to break Steve out of his panic, so Steve soon shows up with the first aid kit to help out too.
There's a lot of hissing from Dustin as they clean the blood off his hair and then clean the wound. And there's also a lot of pouting when Dustin finds out he can't go into the pool anymore, unless he wants to risk disturbing his injury again.
Other than that, they manage to take care of everything quite quickly, and soon Dustin is heading out to join his friends again, leaving Steve and Eddie behind to dispose of all the bloody gauze and towels used.
Steve is throwing the last of the gauze in the trash when he feels Eddie touch his arm. When he turns, Eddie is pale as a ghost, his forehead glistening with sweat.
"Eddie?"
"Can you help me to the couch? I think I might pass out," Eddie mumbles, and Steve swears he's turning a little green.
The Backrooms movie is incredible, and without spoiling anything, Clark is easily one of my favorite horror protagonists I’ve ever seen. Chiwetel Ejiofor was putting everything he had into this role and it shows. I would kill for this movie to come out digitally so I can just analyze his micro expressions - his EYES. Holy SHIT can that man act. I need him to get a goddamn academy award.
