I was introduced to the work of Takashi Suzuki recently by Luke Stephenson. I am Especially loving the BAU Series which is basically lots of different types of sponges arranged in different ways. As Luke says 'its very simple but rather beautiful '

ECAL Photography is currently showing at The Display Gallery in Holborn. Showing the work of 58 BA photography students, it is getting a great response in London with the ECAL artists taking over the Nowness Tumblr recently. Images in the show have been chosen by Nathalie Herschorfer a well known curator of emerging photography.
The exhibtion is on until the 15th January at 26 Holborn Viaduct.
Kemistry Gallery is closing it doors at Charlotte Road in Shoreditch in January 2015 after ten years bringing the very best Graphic Artists to our attention. They can take credit for bringing Parra to the UK, bringing over Geoff Mc Fetridge from the states, Experimental Jetset from the Netherlands and has supported so much UK talent including Eine, James Joyce and Anthony Burrill. Their last show in this venue is the brilliant Jean Jullien, entitled US. Jean Jullien is every where at the moment and it seems appropriate that his work should close this chapter of Kemistry Gallery. After a very successful kick starter campaign Kemistry will be back bigger and better than ever in the near future.

Sunday night psychedelia from Leif Podhajsky. His art direction, design and illustrations have featured on the album covers of Tame Impala, Santigold, Grimes, Foals, Lykke Li, The Horrors and most recently Kelis, a project which has ended up in the It's Nice That Annual celebrating the best creative work of 2014. Warp, Nike, Bose, Ninja Tune, Sony and Virgin are other recent clients. Lovely stuff.
Mary Stephenson is an artist I have only discovered recently. Her brilliant interactive paper portraits are being shown in Mother London by appointment only until the 12th December
I came across these guys a couple of months ago and find myself going back to their website often to see what they are up to as they are just brilliant. Hey Studio based in Barcelona. Represented commerically by Handsome Frank. Check out there website here:

Having worked with Christies for a few years on The Art People campaign, it is really lovely to see these James Mollison images shot for the Christies magazine, designed by B.A.M. These images embrace the concept behind the Art People, to celebrate the collector and the objects they collect. While I would have loved to see the collector and collection together in one image, with the collector immersed in their individual and unique worlds, this is very lovely and considered work.
I am loving these Handsome Frank videos.
It's a great way to understand a bit more about how an illustrator creates their work.
I posted one about Jean Jullien a while ago and this time it's the brilliant Thomas Burden.
This is an excerpt for the Rivages film made about artist JR’s recent contribution to his Women Are Heroes project.
Directed by Guillaume Cagniard.
JR exhibits freely in the streets of the world, catching the attention of people who are not typical museum visitors. His work mixes Art and Act, talks about commitment, freedom, identity and limit.
Look Mum No Hands bike and coffee shop on Mare Street are hosting the launch party for Ride Issue 9 on Friday December 12th. This is coinciding with the LMNH Christmas party and a photographic exhibition of Mountains by Michael Blann. Should be a very special evening indeed.
Just watched a brilliant Blondie documentary on BBC Four which reminded me of this Somerset exhibition for Blondie's 40th anniversary. Photographs by band member Chris Stein. The show will include iconic and behind the scenes shots of the band hanging out with The Ramones, David Bowie and Andy Warhol. Definitely worth a visit. And its free.
Chris Stein/Negative: Me, Blondie and the Advent of Punk at Somerset House. Until 25th January 2015
