First Day of Graduate School!
It happened! I have officially begun my graduate career at NCSU. Words cannot fully explain just how stressed I have been this week about classes. Today was my first class for Historiography and Historical Methods, which is going to be fully discussion based with no lectures. I also have received my additional syllabi for Intro to Public History and Cultural Heritage, which is why I’m less stressed. Because while there is a TON of reading the amount of assignments is less than what it was for my senior year of my undergrad. I know I won’t be nearly as excited about this when I’m having to write 15-20 page papers for my midterm and final. Next week I start my other two classes and I am really looking forward to Cultural Heritage! I am also enjoying my new job with the Special Collections Research Center located in the D. H. Hill Library. It’s a unique experience working in a library and also working for strictly an archive. Since before interning with WGHF they had an archive and museum as well!
I still love being in Raleigh, this city has so much to offer from the arts to sports to restaurants. I am looking forward to exploring the city more so during the upcoming months.
I would love to keep writing, but I am drained and about to fall asleep. Will post more later.
